I'm running WinXP Pro, a fully legit, activated copy. Sometimes, IE 6 just stops working -- it won't try to connect to the 'net at all. It won't even try to connect to the local network. Oddly, Opera 6.03 still works. This only occurs on limited accounts; there also seems to be an issue with Outlook Express, it'll take 30 seconds to load instead of the regular 2. Changing the account to Admin doesn't fix it; deleting and recreating the account doesn't work, either (which I find particularly odd...). Again, this affects ONLY limited accounts, not Admin accounts. I've reinstalled XP, reactivated, and was able to recreate the same problem.
Sys info, although I doubt it much matters: P3 600, 512 RAM, TNT2U, connected to net through and ADSL connection (routed through a Linksys router). Thanks, Prodigy |
Not sure why IE6 stops working , but as for Outlook you need to turn off
Instant Messaging, In Outlook go to Tools,Options,Other, uncheck the box enable Instanst messaging with Microsoft Outlook |
