I want to install Linux (any distribution that will do) on a Dell C600 Latitude laptop.

Please advice me what distribution is the best in my case or when i can find more help.

i would suggest mandrake 8.2 or suse 8, they seem to be the best distro's i've found at detecting hardware

Mandrake is famous for broken distros usually so go for Suse.
