Well just downloaded DirectX Security Update for Windows XP (KB839643):

And try to install and get:

Ok well it just says:

Um ok so wrong version but why the hell? Running windows x sp1 with all updates from windows update. And of course DirectX 9.0b.

That above is the message I got, I simply just copied the text and pasted here.
So I don't know why it did what it did on yours unless it was a corrupt download.

Um strange. Yea redownloaded a few times. :(

Um ok I figured it out. There are two different ones for some reason:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

Which works fine and the other one:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

Wich does not work and gives the error above.
