If you right click Adobe Arobat 6 Professional and press Open, the icon goes back to default mode but the program does not open. This way you can temporarily fix the icon but once restarted it goes back to ACDSee 6's icon for *.ico files.

Yeah there should be a bug either in Adobe Acrobat/Reader 6.0 or in ACDSee 6.0.

If you go to ACDSee 6.0 > Tools > File Associations > Deselect ICO, Then
you will get the original icons back.
