Opera has made MSN sound like the sweedish chef. As a retaliation, Microsoft deliberately split out bad HTML if the browser identified as Opera. If Opera would fully implement the W3C DOM they wouldn't have these problems.

Ah, that one.
But it did begin a lot earlier. Yes, Operasoft made a few jokes about MS homepages, but that was after that MS coded them for Internet Exploded exclusively. No doubt that it was MS that started it - that's why I didn't get it.

How painful it must be to MS to see that people actually are using other browsers, some even pays for the joy of it. IExplorer is still used by 90% of all visiting the web, I think MS should be happy with that. No need to act as m$holes. Personally I hope they will have to pay.
