Does anyone know of a way to change a CD-key for Windows 2000 on the fly? The OS has already been installed and is running on one key, but I want to be able to change it without formatting and putting a new key on. In Windows XP, I know you can do it easily, but with Win2k, it seems a bit more difficult.
The reason I'm doing this is that I have two computers running the same key, but have two legit copies of Win2k, with different CD keys. Anyone know how to do this? Thanks very much in advance! |
I have not seen one. The reason a key extractor was developed for XP was because of Windows Product Activation (WPA). If I see one, will let you know.
Try the XP extractor and see if it works, but I doubt it. Zo |
I know it's not the preferred way but you can always choose the upgrade option and put in the new key.

Thanks for your help, guys. I had a bad feeling it wasn't really a possibility, but it was worth a try nonetheless.
Thanks! |
