I have just completed a clean installation of XP on a new hard drive.
Now when I try to read an NFO file I get the message "System info cannot open this nfo file,it might be corrupted or an unreconised version." When I convert these files to txt they open OK.
I have tried following the instructions from help and support but every time I get the same error message.
There must be some simple way to get these to open when I click on them but up now I cannot find it.

Just right click the mouse, on the file you want to open.

Go to "open with" on the dropdown menu and select 'choose program', tick the 'always use ....' box and choose 'notepad'.

Problem should now be fixed

Cheers

:) :)

I used to have this too before my HDD crashed, it was a nice proggy, DOS's edit is good for NFO files too :P, you can always make a file assocation too and associate NFO files with notepad or whatever
