i noticed that restore point files are stored in the system volume information directory. every restore point seenms to be saved in a separate directory such as RP11, RP12 etc. to save space, i want to physically delete some of the restore points but keep others. can i do this?
are each restore points independent of each other (i.e. if i delete a restore point, other restore points are unusable)? i find very little documentation about restore point management. any insight will be appreciated. hound |
base on what i understand from a previous restore procedure....
it seems that a restore point is created a new thing is added to the system. and act as the reference to recover to the last working configuration for your system but as for the indepedency on other restore points, i believe it should be as the info is base on the whole system (added on everytime), hence it should be independent.... please correct me if i am wrong.... u may like to check out M$ Knowledge Base for info...(although u won get much there) Last edited by skloo77 at Jul 25 2002, 11:04 AM |
