Well we finally found out what was killing our network connection. Someone was trying to be a tech and looped a ethernet connetion back into a hub and this was storming our network. Also there was a DEC hub that had too many nodes connecting through it.

So in reality the network admin was correct but he had no idea the overflow was coming from itself. Wonder if the loop back was really an accident or if someone real ticked off.
