well i'm about to get back into putting VS's on my system again, but I want everyone's opinion on what to use. So which one should i use: the uxtheme patch or stylexp?
thanks. |
I would stick with a patched uxtheme, style XP uses quite a lot of system resources. You can get third party apps for changing icons and boot screens so the extra features of stylexp are kind of redundant.
|
I agree with DoG: use a patched UXTHEME.DLL rather than Style XP because of the resources StyleXP uses with few enhancements to functionality. If you want additional functionality you could look at WindowBlinds and DesktopX.

so does anyone have one of those patchers that work? I've tried two different ones and one of them won't work and the other one says it works, but after i restart my vs's still won't work.
thanks. |

I've had no luck with the patchers, but tend to find these files are working and get released fairly quickly: Code:
http://vortex2050.dyndns.org:8080/repository/Patches/Uxtheme/ |
http://vortex2050.dyndns.org:8080/re....2900.2120.rar
Or http://home.arcor.de/_aero/6.0.2900.2120.rar And easy way to change is using replacer which i have attached. :) |
thanks guys, i finally found a patcher that worked aabout a week ago.
|
Which one did you find that worked? I really do not want to use StyleXp. That is another program running that I really do not want.
Thanks Dudelive |
i think it was this one, but not 100% sure since i still have all of them on my hd. here it is in case you want to try it.
|
Thanks for this patcher ;)
