Hey, I have a combined hw/sw Q ....
Recently I inherited a Cisco 1605-R router, wich I would like to "play" with. Since it has 2 ethernet ports, and is missing a WIC, I thought of using it as a NAT'ing firewall/router of some sort. It came with 8 MB of RAM and a 4 Meg Flash card, running IOS 12.0(9) ( c1600-y-mz.120-9.bin ) but have been upgraded with 8 MB extra RAM, and flashed with IOS 12.2(3) ( c1600-sy-mz.bin ). What I basicly want to do is this : Eth0 = Internet = DHCP client on my ISP. Eth1 = LAN = DHCP server, providing X numbers of PC's internet, by using NAT. Can someone tell me if this is possible, and point me to a nice config file ? Then, if this is doable, I might want to add some FW rules, and/or priority of ports/protocols (QoS) due to VoIP . No one able to help out ?

Not sure if that router is compatable or not, but Cisco now has a web based setup utility called CRWS. You can download it for free.
