When I use BT the "System Idle Process" remains stable for around 5 mins.. Then soon after BT, I'm using ABC client, take 99% of the cpu over. :(
I've done searches, and people have posted to reinstall NIC drivers. I've been using my 3-Com nic so I disabled it, and switched to my D-Link NIC.. but that doesn't seem to be working. :( I've forwarded the ports in the firewall. Everything seems alright, except with the cpu leaks. |
I had the same problem with ABC, Azureus and Shaddows clients- i finally switched to TorrentStorm and havent had the problem since. It didn't happen on all torrent's, just files in excess of 1 gig.
you can get TorrentStorm from here : Code:

For me TorrentStorm is taking alot of cpu but not Azureus
This is not the same thing for all the people |
I'm tring Azureus BT client.
So far its ROCK solid. Interesting how these clients have different download/upload thresholds. Though.. I don't think I've tried TorrentStorm. Q -> In your experimentation with the tool, how are the download / upload rates? PS. Size or torrent I'm experimenting on is ranging from 300MB - 500MB. Just three slot/files to see what this program does. So far I'm impressed, but then again.. I'm easily amused. :) |
Hmm, my ABC is only using 02 -05 % and I am seeding 1 and leeching 1.
|
For my experience, Azureus is sending less than other Bittorent client ;)
|
Bads.. true my upload is only @ 7KB/s
My download is at 130KB/s total. javaw.exe = BT is currently at 23-24 CPU cycles. Much better then my first experience. |

This is why I really like this one ;) |
Damn, Javaw.exe NEVER dropped below 99% on this machine, TorrentStorm, at the moment, has 6 processes runing and i am using less than 4% of my cpu.
