I get no audio playing dvds in media player but all other files work just fine. My problem? I have divx 5.1 and K-Lite Codec Pack installed.

Windows Media Player? Or Media Player Classic?

Either way make sure not mututed first. lol

Then check AC3 MatrixMixer settings.

Test your speakers with your speaker software.

Make sure its set to 5.1 in windows. Some times it gets reset.

Ive tried everything including a fresh install of media player. Dvds and audio cds are a no go for audio but winamp and windvd work just fine

What was it, I know someone that is having similar problems.

Not sure but on the dvd itself you have to set up the audio also. It might have also been a driver problem. All I know for sure is that it works. Also updated to the latest build of media player and updated my audigy 2 drivers

i bet when you updated media player, you overwrote a bad codec;
my money is that it was that damn K-lite codec pack;

I avoid that now, because it ALWAYS messes with something in Media Player; sometimes makes the sliders stay locked, so y ou can;t adjust saturation, or tone or brightness...

Unless you REGULALRY use other media players to watch AVI or MPEG'S, its best to not install 3rd party codec packs.
I've formatted MANY A TIME because of this, so I speak from experience!
