First of all, for those who are interested in making an answer file for an unattended install. Here is how:
To install from a CD it is required to save the answer file as Winnt.sif. We are required to copy that file to a floppy disk and run the setup from the CD. "Hello! this is 2004. I neither have single floppy disk nor a floppy drive." :D Is it is possible to intergrate this Winnt.sif to the Windows 2000/XP CD? Has anybody done that before? I tried copying the file to \I386 also to the root of the CD, but to no avail. Thank you in advance, McoreD |
Works for me ;)
Winnt.sif in i386 folder and burn CD ! |
Thanks for these informations ;)
I will save them for the futur |
greypigeon,
Burning to an actual CD is the only step I haven't done so far. I made the ISO, emulated it from DAEMON Tools and tried to run the setup within Windows. That's why I said it didn't work. Thanks for the confirmation mate. I will actually burn it to a CD and try it. Yes it should work. :) Cheers, McoreD |
DAM...I gotta do this!!
Looks easy!! Will try!! Thanx guys! |

OK, Made file, made iso, inserted file, burned iso.
Haven't tried, but it should werk....I hope! |
Can you open the iso that is on the harddrive and add the "Winnt.sif" file to the correct location and then choose save as using UltraIso to another location burn the cd and you would be all set.
I have not tried this but have heard lots of talk about it and would like to get this working. I just had to reinstall here and I forgot I would have too answer questions at the 32 minutes to go mark and was real ill at me for having to wait longer. Thanks "~*McoreD*~" for starting this and all the help that followed. I am glad someone started this, now maybe it will be easier for all. Thanks Dudelive |
I just asked this in advance, because I am actually thinking of doing this once XP SP2 is officially released. (slipstream XP SP2 and do this). Cheers, McoreD |
