I've been ripping some DVDs to AVI files, and the latest one is being decoded without sound. The notes generated by the ripping prog says the audio codec is:
"Audio English LPCM 2ch 48kHz 16 bit" I tried installing MS PCM codec and IMA PCM codec, but the AVIs are still without sound. Does anyone know where to d/l this particular codec.

I am using Smart DVD Ripper to rip the files to HDD, and FlaskMPEG to convert the VOB files to AVI. I also tried DVD2AVI which didn't work either.

Thanx

Have you tried Google

Usually you can find what you want there....

I was able to split the sound track off into a WAV file with DVD2AVI, and re-combined it with the soundless video track using VirtualDub. I found a few different PCM codecs on Google, but no LPCM.

LPCM = Linear PCM

Once Elecard MPEG2 Player is installed, Elecard OdioDekoda is able to decode LPCM.

Although you have to use Elecard OdioDekoda for this purpose, it is not a recommened decoder to use when decoding AC3 files. You will get a better result with InterVideo Audio Decoder for those purposes.
