Restart the server?
Like here: Code:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;272303 |
@ Unicorn: Hmm, that link seems to be about a security flaw in the RPC service. It would only crash if people sent a malicious packet, and the server was running an unpatched win2k.
@ BlackMantis: Try checking the event log to see if there were any problems starting the RPC service. Often the event log contrains useful information for narrowing down the cause of problems. Does this happen at EVERY logon/startup? |
@Zone-Mr: Yupp, I once heard about a similar problem at my work at a small unit, logon problems were solved with a fixed/updated server. I thought it was something to have a look at. Probably th client s should be loked at also but it is a simple thing to do - restart the server and see if the problem goes away for a while.
