Never has one breast caused so much outrage. The unveiling of singer Janet Jackson's right breast during Sunday's Super Bowl halftime show in Houston has been the subject of a lot of Monday-morning cooler talk, from the beer-guzzling viewers at home all the way to the top of the Federal Communications Commission.
![]() Some people were furious that CBS and MTV, which produced the halftime entertainment, would expose America to "obscenity" on national television (even though Jackson's breast was partly obscured by a sun-shaped, metal decoration). Code:

Ya I never knew when I cought the video on my PC that this thing would be talked about so long. Of course, not to mention the FCC getting in it. Guess that's their job.
I heard TiVo said that's been their all time high requested playback ever. :P Edit - See Below: Quote:

Oh, my. The accidental uncovering of a small part of Janet's right breast, filmed from a relatively large distance, and visible on TV for maybe 120ms... What unimaginable filth! How offensive! It's so unlike the video clips MTV usually airs in which women are always fully clothed with no flesh showing whatsoever ;)
Seriously... there is an *uproar* over THIS? Something which people have to rewind and take framegrabs to notice, and even then it's hardly pornographic. I'm sure millions will have their minds warped by those few pixels visible for one or two NTSC frames. Let the complaints, investigations, angry phonecalls, resignations, and appologies commence. |
It will probably do her *career* some good :D

...and now:
(CBS/AP) Janet Jackson apologized Monday for an incident in which one of her breasts was bared for a moment as she sang with Justin Timberlake during the Super Bowl halftime show Sunday night. In a statement released Monday night, Jackson said it was a last-minute stunt that went awry. Code:

lol I just think its funny!!!

This stunt was clearly staged. As far as why is it a big deal....unlike in Europe, the US does not permit nudity (partial or full) during standard broadcasts, especially during prime time when children may be watching. While the actors themselves may not be penalized for this crass and ill advised act, CBS who carried the broadcast can expect to be paying millions of $ in fines. Compared to porn, JJs exposure is inconsequential (perhaps not even interesting), however, compared to current TV decency standards, it is unquestionably unacceptable. None-the-less, both JJ and Justin will become likely become highly sought after for interviews over next next few weeks. Regrettably, it has probably helped their careers instead of shaming them.
