I'm saving money to buy a new computer as most of you already know in a previous post!
I'm debating on what I should get first..I got $200 to play with and dont wanna spend it all. 1. ThermalTake Xaser III 1420A 12 Bay Chasis BLK 7 Fans -- 159.00 2. (QTY 6) Vantec Tornado 80mm fans -- 9.99 Ea @ 59.94 3. Round Cables (FD, and 2x HDD) --- $17.75 4. 2500 Barton --- $85 5. Thermalright SLK-947U Copper Heatsink -- $39.99 6. Asus nForce2 Ultra 400 "A7N8X-E Deluxe" --- $ 113.99 I still want to overclock this setup, but wonder if this MB is the best to go with? Now, all of this stuff is on Newegg. What should I get first? I dont wanna break my small amount i've been saving, so I need your suggestions! http://secure.newegg.com/app/WishR.asp?ID=552245 Thanks for the advice! Regards, ~PCTech |
I would go with the Mobo myself, The price won't drop much if at all since it is a new board. To me the processor should be the last thing to buy since they are always dropping in price. Fans and everything usually stay the same also.
just my 2Cents :) |
To me the most important is the case, together with the PSU.
Now $200 isn't that much money when it comes to put a new rig together, and maybe it isn't fun to start with the case. But, what are you supposed to do without it? Point is that most of us have old parts laying around. Use them again, but see to that you have a cool (!) case to place them. That is a Lian-Li to me but I see nothing wrong with ThermalTake either. imho |
...Or you could wait a couple more months when some new technology appears (PCI Express, Prescott, etc...) and probably get good deals on older stuff or have the newer stuff available.
