On the face of it, an extremely useful tool; or rather it would be if it returned the correct key: I have one VLK (kosher) which I used to install XP, this little utility reports a completely different one! Further, I've checked the key which ViewKeyXP.exe reports and it doesn't work.
 |
:) I just tried it on mine and it gave me the correct key. :)

Yep, works for me too! Thanks!
@sswhite: Does the other (10 digit) retrieval key) work for you? Or does that also give you a wrong key? |
Le Cactus,
GetProdKey.exe which returns the first five and last five characters of the CD key work fine: returning the correct entries. The values returned by ViewKeyXP are completely different. I've re-downloaded ViewKeyXP, in case it was corrupted: exactly the same result! One possibility: I'm running XP with SP1 beta, build 1068. Will have to try it on an installation without the SP installed. |
i have installed XP-SP1-1063
both programs give me the same numbers have a nice day kernel |
It give me the right key. Thank you Swampy
