Try
Code:

http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp?corporate=true
for a second and see if you can update Windows.

Good Luck with SP2 ;)

It always change the page for the "V5" :(

Maybe my SP2 is not correctly installed because I can't configure the windows firewall

Sounds like a vbscript problem. Try to reinstall it:

so has the issue of ur wu not working been fixed? tia... i too have the betA SP2 which prevents me as well from getting to wu v.5 or v.4, or i may be a dumb arse for not rtfm... lol

bads U may want to try this as i did if ur still in the same boat:

Quote:

I cleared my m$ cookies, deleted temp files including offline content, i re registerd urlmon.dll by entering the following in the run box " regsvr32 urlmon.dll "
i reset xpantispy to default system state, under ie6 system property's i cleared the  "ssl state under the content tab" and then rebooted a couple of times... THEN I was able to get to the wu site and scan for updates succesfully... YAY!!!

BUTT the first critical update was a High Priority Update called WINDOWS XP SP1 EXPRESS  below that were other critical updates from DEC 17, 2001 to APRIL 2002 so it's a "SP2 bug correct"?

Anyway google has a ton of websites dedicated to this XP 2055 betaSP2 wu tips.

anyone know sumting new on this subject... tia jiz.

Finally working today ;)

There are 5 critical updates for me :D

lickablepig 13th Feb 04 05:58 PM

The following updates have been successfully installed:

December Critical Update for Windows XP SP2 BETA (1)
December Critical Update for Windows XP SP2 BETA (5)
December Critical Update for Windows XP SP2 BETA (2)

On one of my boxes that has beta SP2 2055 on, i had forgoten automatic updates & intelligent background services were disabled. After enabling both to auto and restarting i found these 3 updates today.

So if anyone still doesn't know why they're as$ out of v5 windows update all you need to do is turn on those services.
(might want to reset system state first in xp_antispy too)

After successfull updating you can reboot and turn them back off again then recheck all ur anti spy settings as well.
