hardware ok seem to be software i think

just fitted 2 new dvd recorders to my pc

1st is a pioneer 106
2nd is nec1300a
3rd which was allready on is a pioneer 101s dvd rom

problem
when i go to my computer all the dvds units are recognised under win xp pro
but the thing is that if i eject the cd on the pioneer(right click on icon then eject) the nec1300a ejects the cd and vice versa
if i create a icon off any of the cd/dvd drives on to desktop they apper ok until u click on them with a responce cant find drive do u want to browse 4 it

control panel show the 3 diffrent types of hardware
tried uninstalling drives then reinstalling with no luck
burning software works ok but you have to choose the opposite drive to get the right one and i have dla active software on the dvdrom drive which only works on recorders so it looks like the whole dvd are messed up

im lost with this
help anyone

This is not perhaps a technically expert solution but I would uninstall everything, then bring them up again one by one, making sure that each drive works alone on each channel and on each cable, both as master and slave. Boring, but I reckon you would find out whether the problem is cable, drive (including master/slave/CS settings), or something else. Once you find the problem and can replicate it at will, solving it shouldn't be too difficult.

Hope this helps.
