This can be closed as of now, my problem has been fixed. It was not a security issue after all. I had got dumb and made several changes as a result of Christmas and also had overclocked the computer too far.....not getting hot at all but just REAL unstable and I had forgot that I had did that. SO make one change at a time and see if all works fine then another one. NOT 4 major changes..
Just every once in awhile my computer will just quit. The screen goes black and after waiting to see what will happen and nothing happens, pressing the reset button will bring it back and it will not ever run scan disc as a result. Below is one from the event viewer and there are 2 others relating to the same. Quote:

seems you are not alone with this problem and perhaps error 5007 or
5003. have you checked out ZA's forums yet? _http://forums.zonelabs.com/zonelabs |
@richardc2000....Thanks for the information, will do some more checking to be sure what is the problem. Also for others that might need to know there is a search box at the BOTTOM of the page that "richardc2000" gave. There is alot of reading there and I mean alot.
Thanks Dudelive |
I think i had this problem some time ago. i would unistall Zonealarm and instal a new version this might help it did for me.
All the best JTK |
That is my thoughts also.....since "richardc2000" gave that link and I did some reading all has been fine. I cleared out the event viewer log and will wait till it goofs again and then see if it is still related to ZoneAlarm. If it is there is a procedure to uninstall before reinstalling, but will have to go look it back up.
Thanks Dudelive |
You should also check the Dr. Watson logs:
drwtsn32 Be sure to set it as defualt too btw: drwtsn32 -i. |
The problem is when it happens the monitor goes off as in black, no "BSOD" . At the time it does this I have been using Shareaza while at the same time this happens there are 3 errors reported in event viewer all related to true vector. I was just looking everthing over one more time and noticed that there was no virtual memory set. When I checked it there was no check in the box for system managed memory and there was no where else it was either.
Maybe it defaults to that when you go looking, was just curious. Still thinking I may need to redo ZoneAlarm. There was no log for DrWatson at all. There was one but it was blank. Thanks Dudelive |
