Hey,

All right guys I am looking for a flat screen crt with at least Max / Optimal resolution: 1024 x 768 @ 120Hz for my borther. I am looking for a high refresh rate at 1024x768. Since that's what my brother likes and 100Hz is ok but must be at least 100 but would really like higher if possiable.

He is willing to spend max $200. I'm not really into monitors so I have not seen any with a high refresh rate.

I just said flat screen cause thats what he wants. But if you think going with something else is better, than by all means hook me up.

He uses his computer just for gaming, mostly. Must have at least 1 year limited warranty. He is looking for retail as well.

17 inch is fine. He does not want to spend too much but if you can find a deal then maybe he will go for it. But nothing, nothing, over $250.

If this cant happen, then he will be disaporinted but will have to live with it.

Oh and Color does not matter either.

Thanks a ton,
Will

staples is running a deal on a flat crt (black and silver) Envision 19" for $130 (after mail-in rebates). it has a resolution of 1600x1200.

edit:
Maximum Resolution 1600x1200@75Hz
Recommended Resolution 1280x1024 @85Hz

don't know the refresh rate at 1024x768

Well the best TFT monitor is the one I have, its an Iiyama Prolite E431S, trouble is its WAY out of your price range, has a response time of 16ms. The colour depth is beautiful! Its about £320, so thats quite a lot in dollars! For games you want a refresh rate of 25ms or less (for a TFT).

For your budget, go CRT.

I saw a cheap $150 dollar 15 inch LCD monitor in Maplins. I know it's only 15" but it does support 1024x768.

Will is looking for a CRT monitor. Do not get confused with a TFT monitor.
Back to the topic.

Thanks, :)

Just thought I'd mention it, as it's cheap for an LCD monitor
