Ok folks, we are back in action again :)

A few of you may have noticed over the last few day's that B1 has been a bit sluggish, it seems that the posts table in the MySQL database managed to get corrupted and was causing a few problems. Last night around 10,000 posts were lost due to this corrupt table, i think i am correct in saying that we lost most of the posts made after the 28th October. Zone-mr and Sephiroth will recover what they can but i don't hold much hope of a lot being recovered :(

Zone, Adam and JackDynne spent more than a few hours last night pouring over logs making sure that this was just as it seems, an accident, act of god- call it whatever you will. No sign of tampering was found- it's just one of those things, files can get corrupted!

I would like to thank Seph, Zone and JD for their investigative work in ascertaining just what went wrong and thanks again to Zone for managing to straighten out a pretty messed up file. We know pretty much the title of every thread lost and how many posts were lost from other threads so at least there is a starting point for any possible recovery operations.

We apologise for the downtime but trust you can understand that occaisionally these things happen.

Thanks for you understanding,
BetaONE Crew

Edit - There are some topics that all of the posts didn't get corrupted, those topics are marked for having missing posts by a * at the end of the topic name.

Thank you for fixing and fixing. Btw - how often do you make backups of things like the database?

Usually daily... except we haven't had many problems lately so we got kinda complacent... you know how its like with backup :-/

Now we have a script scheduled to do an automatic backup every midnight.

A big personal thank you to DoG, Zone, Seph, and JD. They spent ALOT of time and effort on this, and I'm sure many others appreciate it as much as I do. :)
