The G1000 is the world's FIRST DirectX 9 compliant Graphics Immersion Unit! Utilizing the eight-pipe matrox Deferred Rendering Engine, it achieves over twice the performance of any other graphics solution in it's class.
Matrox is an old and respected graphics card manufacturer. Many people think that the picture (signal) quality of Matrox cards is the best available, and is favoured by people who seek good 2D-performance and maximum quality. With the G1000 Matrox seems to be re-entering to the top line of the 3D-markets and competition is usually only a positive thing for the consumers. |
Yeah. I can't wait for this to come out so the GeForce 4 Ti 4600 will come down in price. It'll be hard to beat the nVidia though.
More power. Awrrr, Awrrr! |
Matrox's new card will beat the Geforce4, then nVidia will make a Geforce 5, and the cycle will continue with us, the poor consumer, shelling out money for these new cards. Why can't PC developers just learn to refine their games on current systems (like console developers) instead of making them to run only on the latest brand-spanking new system?
|
PC developers are just lazy I'd say, its probably alot easier to make a game look and play good on the newest hardware than actually spending the time to make it work on average stuff.
|
that is the concept of bringing in the money...
if they keep on design games with the old cards, then it beats the purpose of the video cards mfg to come out with new and powerful cards... and we also won't get to enjoy good graphics which provides satisfaction when playing them... btw, matrox lastest isn't it the 512parhelia??? i couldn't find any g1000???? |
Too bad we have to wait for games which uses all the advantages this card has.
|
Now I will agree to that, Hell games are just now coming around to using the full capacity of graphics cards made a year ago, It;s the game programmers behind the eightball because noone (graphics card makers) want their designs stolen...

no worries.....better cards are in the making....yet to come...
|
because they can and they thinkt their smart if they make better graphics :l
|
heh, thats what they said about the parlhenia (spelt wrong) and the gf4 completely kicked the crap outta it, once the nv30 comes out, it will kill the g1000 even if it is better than a gf4
|
I have just tried a alpha leaked 3 map version of Doom 3, well if you think you have a fast video card just try this one, have tried on a thunderbird 1.4ghz 512mb ram and geforce 3 4400 128mb ram
only got 12-15 fps so we really need a new faster video and cpu.jtk |

This is already directx 9 compliant and out does the gf4, fastest card on the market right now |
Aren't the new ATI Radeon 9xxx series of cards DX9 compliant?
The NV30 (I think) is on the way, Nvidia won't give up its crown that easily ... |
nvidia talked about releasing the nv30 aka geforce FX and then a nv35 maybe summer? also ATI is releasing a Radeon 10,000 i think which is the R350, then in summer of 03 releasing their R400 which is the next generation radeon..
|
I bet Ati will kick nvidia's and Matrox ass :)
The radeons are really looking promising, and they are cheaper too. |
