I am beginning a grassroots campaign to get myself elected to the presidency in 2004. No one knows who I am except those who have met me and believe me, they never forget me. I have started my campaign page athttp://www.doomwadstation.suhost.com/bob and would only ask that if you are tired of politics as usual and would like to hear a candidate speak candidly on any issue then please at least check out the website and if you feel that you like what I have to say then sign my petition to the U.S. Congress to get me on the ballot and contribute in my forum thread on my other site.
Thankyou :D |
This looks like Spam and I feel like moving it to the joke section, but I'm nice.
:bye: Moving to political section from chit chat. |
Spam? No. and not a joke.
It's no wonder this country is in such a quandry. Nobody has any guts any longer. If people took the process more seriously than they do then George Bush wouldn't be president and The economy wouldn't be in the dumps. |
Nice to have the future president of the united states on BetaONE ;)
|
Nice to be here too.
:-) |
Hi Bob
Give me a shout - I will give you some free ad free webspace on my server to help with your run for president + a free domain name registration :) BOBFORPRESIDENT.US ;) |

I was also unaware that the country is in a quandry. Perhaps you need to learn a little more about macro-economics. There's a thing called the business cycle. It's quite natural for economies to go through ups and downs. Look at how fast the economy, stock market, etc. grew in the 90's. Only makes sense that things would slow up a bit for a while. I, for one, prefer not to have runaway inflation like we did in a couple decades ago. And while many people do suffer in a slow economy, many other positive things do happen. Shit, look at how many millions of people are saving a lot of dough by re-financing their homes at these low interest rates, for example. Your other point about people taking the process more seriously is a point well taken. I, too, wish that more people voted and do other things to get more involved. But another way of looking at voter apathy is to consider that people are content with how things are. The Democrat and Republican parties are quite similar in much of what they stand for. Sure, there are some ideological differences on how big the role of the federal government in our lives should be, but in so many areas the parties do agree on things. From your website: "I would also propose decriminalizing the narcotic drugs" You really want to legalise narcotics? Have you looked into the human consequences of this beyond the financial aspect of the savings from fewer people in prison. You really want people going down to the 7-11 to buy heroin, morphine, opium. Yeah, could I get a Big Gulp with that herion... Pot is one thing, narcotics are a completely different ballgame, bro. It all sounds so cute. Ooh... he's running for president! But the proof is, as they say, in the pudding. Check his web page. Make your own judgement. MNKid |

Alcohol causes just as many (if not more) social problems as drugs do. Alcohol comes in many different strengths - beer, hard stuff. Kinda like pot; cocaine. Maybe it is time to legalize "some" types of narcotics, sell them in a controlled environment and allow the government to reap the money generated by the taxes collected. |
Well I have a Libertaian/Conserative leaning, the past few months our Politco's have been holding us hostage with the sky is falling if we don't raise taxes, we just passed the first county income tax west of the Mississippi River, they have threathened to release people in jail & prison if they did'nt get a Tax increase, STEAL A CAR (You don't even go to jail , they give you a ticket and tell you show up in court, what a JOKE)
Our State has over 50,000 state employees our fine govonor had to cut some Jobs, out of 50K state employees the only jobs he could find to cut were 300 State Troopers, & from the crime Lab. That is a Criminal act of our Govonor just to raise taxes. I am not trying to Flame, here but our state and fedral federal prisions 30% of the violent criminals are CRIMINAL IMMIGRANTS (I AM NOT SORRY IF THIS ANGERS YOU AND YOU CAME HERE ILLEGALLY) My wife is a Naturalized US citiizen, she went through all the steps, and we paid to did it right, we are bringing her mom her legally it has has taken 8 years and cost us over $7K. I belive in immigration (Legal) like the immigrants that came here and Learned english on their own with thier own money and wer'nt a leech on the system. Not illegal Immigrants with 8-9 kids on welfare. They saw they they do the low paying jobs that most americans don't want. would you turn down a job that pays $18-20 an hour. Look at the construction industry Framing, drywallling, etc. Next there is no immunization shot for TB, (TB is starting to spread in our public schools, no health screening for Illegal's) So when you steal a car and don't go to jail but use Pot ( I personally don't , but I have tried it before) and you go to Jail that is wrong. I know they say Pot is a gateway drug. We have a Medical Pot law here. So I think that we should reverse it an put the Car thives, and people doing the home invasions in jail and give the tickets to pot users. TThere is a differnce I don't belive in Leaglizing pot just decriminalize its use. Do'nt fill up our prisions and waste court and cops time with paperwork for pot users, save for protection of our families, our property and our way of life. I have got to stop, I love to talk Politcs but it gets me heated up. I could rant for pages. Proud to be an American. just my .02c worth of rant for now. |
Ever since all the main wars were won, we've had pussy's for president. No moral character and increasingly beholdent to big corporate money, since you can't get elected without gazillions of buckazoids.
What's the answer? War, prayer, outerspace? jame bond? |
I vote for prayer, GOD. Like it or not, that's my vote.

MNKid[/b][/quote] Yes, the country is in a quandry and it is very much due to the voodoo economics of the republican party. It has been proved time and again that giving tax breaks to the rich only puts more money into their bank accounts - not into the economy. Give the tax breaks to the people who really fuel the economy - the middle class. Let poorer people keep all of their hard earned money from day one. Also, if you haven't noticed, our constitutional rights are slowly being eroded from beneath us. Read the Patriot act which John Ashcroft wants to make permanent. The CIA and FBI and other agencies have unprecedented rights to tap your phone and even check out which books you borrow from the Library. Yes indeed, this country is in deep right now and we need someone who will not waffle on his beliefs or bow before the special interests. It is time that government for the people by the people was returned to the people. Decriminalize does not mean legalize. It means helping people rather than jailing them. No, I don't want people walking down to the corner store to get heroin or other narcotics. I also don't believe these people should be filling up our prisons. There are way too many innocent people in our prisons now. Legal drugs should be regulated in the same manner that cigarettes and alcohol are - age restrictions, etc... One more thing - I am not trying to be cute. I really wish I had a snowballs chance in hell of actually getting on the ballot and winning the election. I think I have the intelligence, the energy and the in your face kind of thinking that is necessary to lead a country. No more of this behind the back dealing that goes on in Washington. Do compromises need to me made? Absolutely, but not at the cost of the people who should be in charge - the average citizen. |

Yes, addicts definitely effect more than just themselves. My father and my step father were both alcoholics - believe me, I know how an addict can affect a family, coworkers and friends. They will be addicts whether the substances are legal or not. That is already more than self evident in our society. Compare crime rates and imprisonment in this country to the Netherlands. You might have your eyes opened to the true cost to society of a failed program like the war on drugs. So much more could be done to benefit society with the money we waste on that war and with the income we could generate by legalizing and controlling it. How much would we save in dollars and human costs if we no longer were to concentrate police, courts and prisons on jailing people for getting high? That space and that money should be used for true criminals - such as car thieves, killers, robbers and more. |
might want to put your pic up on your website so people can know who they are reading about.

Thats coming. I have to shave first. lol

Whoever said they should have put this in the joke section was right.

Our freedoms are slowly but surely being eroded by the government. The deficit is in the hundreds of billions this year The country is currently 6.6 trillion dollars in debt Our government is waging an illegal war on its own citizens with the ridiculous prohibition of drugs such as marijuana and other "soft" drugs Our politicians lie to us and then defend it as being in our best interests I, for one, have had enough. Sure, I am an unknown with no political background but that is why I believe people should vote for me. I have no ties to big money and am not controlled by the corporations. Plus, I have radical ideas that might actually effect CHANGE in this country. |
Sad thing is this is really not a joke. It's a symptom of the troubled times we have gotten ourselves into for reasons easily understood, if we'd be honest with ourselves. We could learn from mistakes of the past, but we don't.

Bob, you have been running your campaign now for a while- you have 9 signatures last time i checked, ever wondered why? The internet is a place of assumed anonymity- people don't have to be who they are in real life when in a forum or chat room- for all people know you could be Charles Manson. I presume you are canvassing your local neighborhood for signatures? If you are then imagine the response you would get if you showed up wearing a balaclava and asking for their signature- thats the response you will get on the internet. You need to put a face to your campaign.
On your website you state, bold as you like, that you still take drugs. You just lost a large selection of the voting public right there, most parents wouldn't put a pot smoker in the whitehouse or indeed in number 10 Downing street, the ruling place of my own country (which in the past has housed all sorts of deviants and miscreants). You let us know you have a poor memory *ALARM BELLS* "I did not have sexual relations with Monica Lewinsky", that this was caused by you aforementioned drug taking *OMG he used to be a junkie*, so in your opinion your country needs a pot smoking ex-junkie with a crappy memory in the white house. Appearances matter, you just painted a breif outline of yourself for people to fill in- Pot smoking ex-junky who has a crappy memory but can ramble on about anything to any tom dick and harry about anything under the sun but what matters. De-criminalise narcotics to save money so you can help narcotics vitims. you just increased your drugs problem a million times worse than it is today. That is unless you plan to limit the amount of narcotics the users can buy- in which case you get 1000's of injured shop workers who got beaten up for refusing a junkie another hit- That would also be unconstitutional as well wouldnt it, you would be denying them their right to polute their own bodys. I'm pro drugs by the way- some drugs are theraputic, i don't agree with mass legalisations of narcotics but i do think some drugs should be legalised- I can say this out loud, I am not running for presidancy nor Premiership. National security and your troop dispositions. Don't you agree that the only way for their to be *World Peace* is to ensure that the unrest in the middle east, asia and the africa's end? How else is that peace going to be brought about peacefully if not for peace keeprs? You are one of the most powerfull nations on the planet- don't you think you should use some of that power to help guide and protect some of the rest of the world to become stable? If we, the English were to be attacked by China (Not going to happen but it's a good enough example) would you be reluctant to send us troops to aid us because it's not your war? I should hope you would but your policys don't seem to make that position clear. What are you really in this for? A bet? The expected donations through PayPal? I just can't believe that you have thought this campaign through, or you are strongly deluded. Never the less, i wish you all the best- No flame intended |
Hey Bob, is this a joke?

It's not so your politics, sir! It's the way you're going about this that I have no respect for. Hmm, let's see...think I'll run for President. Where should I spend part of my valuable 475 days before the Nov. 2, '04 election? Going to town hall meetings, appearing before the media, canvassing the neighborhoods? Nah, think I'll go shot the breeze with the peeps on BetaOne, many of whom don't even live in the USA. This board has at this time 2293 members. Maybe you should find a larger audience. Or do prefer the anonymity? How do we even know who you say you are? Are you an alien, Bob  You have absolutely no chance to win, but of course you know that, Bob. Harry Browne, the best Libertarian vote-getter in the 2000 election got 382,869, which in some ways is impressive. But it's still under 1% of the total vote. Is it the faulty platform, lack of organization, or something else, Bob? I'd like it to change for many reasons, but America is still mainly a 2-party country. Let's cut to the chase. What's your real motivation? Self-promotion? Boredom? PayPal scam? I agree with SOME of you ideas, but find it very telling that the first item on your platform is about ending the drug war. Most average citizens have much more bread and butter issues to deal with. Remember, "It's the economy, stupid!" This whole thing sounds like something you thought up the last time you got high. Anybody with web access can publish a web page touting a run for President. To earn much respect and attention, it takes a little more than that. Just a Libertarian brain-fried druggy who likes Doom. Period. Ashamed I even wasted my time discussing this crap, but it's not every day I get to rip a politician and have them reply. Even a psuedo-politician like Bob ;) MNKid P.S. Your web site for your big run for the oval office is "doom wad station". wtf is that? The video game?! Domain names are cheap to get, Bob. Then get a professional web designer to give your page some legitimacy. Geez, this thread doesn't even merit being in this section. Guy has low self-esteem and needs the attention. My humble opinion, BOB! Prove me wrong in 2008 with a REAL campaign, dude! And still no picture. Guess you still haven't shaved yet, eh :) |
