Im for this to make our own photo gallery here at BetaOne . Even if you can have a picture in your profile

Why cant we have our familly gallery here at BetaOne

Read 28 times, six votes... I guess you won't be forced to scan the pic in your passport, thus why should anyone vote no? Just open the gallery and let those interested participate.
Then put anyone sending pics of John Travolta, george Bush and so on in the detention corner.

Ya why not. But maybe make a group with access to the pics available only to those that actually upload pics :)

Providing its opt-in, I dont see why anyone would have any reason to object to this.

The drawback is its easier said than done. If its decided its worthwhile doing, I may have some time to help code it next week.

WHY?
-> We should be able to have a quite little photo gallery of those who wish to particate. Of course, this gallery is would be LOCKED out for those who did not submit there photo.

-> Cause of this... we need to create a structure so that we can vouch for people. Thus, if we have a photo already in the house, someone can submit, and we can verify, thus we KNOW its really them. After all its all family, however virtual, and we should honor that. :)

i like that idea cyberion, and every photo has to be validated by a crew member, instead of it being an automated process, so that someone can't post a fake picture to get in there

Remember .. the gallery is not about just seeing others, but letting them see you.

As soon as the gallery gets created and have the proper safe guards, I'll send a photo of moi, as soon as I find the digi camera. :)

The reason I recommend it being a membership basics, is JUST to give those people who are PARANOID a peace of mind.

The crew will verify your photo via YES or NO, and then submit the image.

I added a photo to the face behind the silhoutte, so you can see my mug, or try to. note this really me an not a photo from the web. This is a close as you get until we have a little more privacy.

I just voted YES, but I'm not sure what picture I might use. Maybe a picture with the family would be best for me, after all I'm a family man. The only thing, our recent family picture will not be back for about a month.

i think the gallery would need several categories where people can post their own pictures, their own art, their own casemods etc.

I voted the third option. I don't have any digital photos, and I don't have access to a digital camera either. I think that it is a good idea, but I don't think it should be locked to those who have a picture of themself. It should definetly, however, be only for those that are members of BetaONE.

I've been trying to find a gallery that would completely integrate with everything on our site and board, and I've finally found one that will do what I want, but I've gotta wait for Zone-MR to get back from vacation before I can finish it. Combining one PHP script's ton of html templates with another's is not something I want to do by myself :lol: . So, he should be back in a week or two, then we'll get it done then, just be patient :D Me and him work really well together on things like this, and I don't even want to attempt it without him, I'd go bald, or break my keyboard in half, whichever came first ;)

I'd say the yes votes have it, since this isn't Florida. But, is there enough storage space on the server to allow this? B1 members shouldn't have any trouble finding the necessary editing programs to meet B1's size requirements :)
