Just read that the swedish isp Bostream are going to offer vdsl.
The speed is going to be 26 Mbit/s both upstream and downstream. One could think that this would cost a fortune. But no it is going to cost 398:- swedish crowns per month and that is approx 51 us dollars.

Damn, another deal i would snap someones arm off for :D

ADSL is new here and they charge R 890 /month which is +- $111 (US). That for 512/256 and with a 3 Gig/month cap.

It sucks bigtime here and not worth the money for that sh.tty deal..

128k would be great for me to be honnest, just shows you what you can be greatfull for...

26 mb/s? Sounds a little unbelievable, especially to offer something like this to a consumer...for that low of a cost. But, if it is true, then GO FOR IT!!!!

Yep, i'm using a 26.4k connection here, woohoo! Good ol' dialup in the mountains.

The full 26 Mb/s has a limit of 300 meters from the central,
at 1000 meters the speed has dropped to 13 Mb/s
Then it keeps on dropping, so you have to live CLOSE to get this speed.

even still... it's really incredible. I want it. :P

News Flash for us in BC Canada.

Telus is offering a free modem and one year of adsl service for 24.99 per month. If you have a package with telus already (call display etc) you get the first year for 19.99 a month.

I know its not "extreme speed internet" but thought I would give you guys in BC a heads up :)
