Well.. the plan was to give it a try for a week and see what people think. Since there were problems with the recent great resignation etc, and generally there has been few people around it has kinda delayed it....
So ill have to see what everyone thinks.... so.... what do you think? |
I visited last night, but there were only Op's in the channel. :( No one was really talking much either. Perhaps it should be moved to an already existing network to get more user's?
I suggest either EFnet or DALnet. |
You know my opinion....
|
yeah, derfy, I do ;)
|
keep it @ betairc
|
There really is no point to having your own network for a couple channels. IMHO, that's a waste of bandwidth. Having it on a public network would attract more people.
The only advantange of it being on your own server is you can kline/kill people. Once you get over the power hungryness, you realize those options aren't really needed. :) Much easier to open another channel window, then having to connect to another network, and have more open Windows. 3 IRC networks for myself is already enough as it is. /sigh |
Its not about power. Its about flexibility. Look at the chat frame on the main page. We couldnt do that w/o a custom server, forums integration will soon be improved further....
Also more stability. No netsplits. In future other beta sites will be joining our server... |
yes zone, but lol, u and the rest of the admins are abusing it
|
/kill Nichotin ehhh?

peace
but imho we need to get more people involved on irc. i for one never new the benefits of trying irc until i was recommended to give a try a short time ago. many newbies like myself are hardly aware of such benefits. again this is just my opinion. peace out |
You are right mohqg, it would be nice if more people were involved. I have checked it out a few times, but it seemed to be pretty dead. I also just recently discovered the joys and benefits of irc and would recommend that everyone check it out.
