The purpose of this conversion pack is to correct the CRC's and Digital Signature of 3 important Corporate Files which I adopted from WiNBETA Transformation Pack in my SuperW2K3_v2. (The incorrect CRC's and Signature of the 3 files in v2 were responsible for the errors in the setuperr.log.)

The conversion pack is small (~300KB) and can be obtained at:

Hi

As always, many thanks for your excellent work Khauyeung.

I have a query or two regarding the conversation of SuperW2K3 v2 to v3 and I would appreciate some help please:

I don't yet have v2 so I have not yet burned any cd's but after reading the text doc on how to convert v2 to v3, am I to take it that CDIMAGE.EXE will be in the SuperW2K3 files or on the CD and if not, where can I download it from?

KY states that we should use ISO Buster. I normally use WinISO to open/change/make ISO's, would this be ok and if not, where can I download a copy of ISO Buster?

1. CDIMAGE.EXE can be found under the root of my SuperW2K3_v2 or W2K3SRV-AIO_v1.

2. WinISO is supposed to work equally well as the ISOBUSTER in terms of extracting files in ISO onto Hard-Disk.

Esprit 10th Apr 03 08:11 PM

Khauyeung, I wonder if you could answer one more question.

Does the ISO have to be extracted into drive C in order to change the
necessary files.
I have lots of space on Drive E or Drive F. Can I substitute these drives instead of Drive C, or it the whole process drive sensitive?

1. Yes, you have to extract files from the ISO onto your hard-disk.

2. You can change your target hard-drive from C: to any other drive E: or F: which gets enough free space (8 GB). 4 GB is for holding the contents of source root and another 4 GB is for CDIMAGE's compilation process.

Great thanks, Khauyeung.!!!!!!!

Hi Khauyeung

Many thanks for your response, though I have one more query which I neglected to ask in my last post:

Please forgive my ignorance for asking you to answer this basic question, but I'm no expert and I would have thought that when you copy and overwrite the 3 files in the 5 directories, you could then just save and burn the ISO to cd, so what's the significance of using CDIMAGE.EXE at STEP 4?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4) CDIMAGE Usage: From the command prompt run CDIMAGE and use this command line:

C:\Super_W2K3\CDIMAGE.EXE -LSUPER_W2K3 -T03/25/2003,12:00:00 -BC:\Super_W2K3\BSCRIPT\LOADER.BIN -G -H -M -N -O -X C:\Super_W2K3 C:\khauyeung_SuperW2K3_AIO_v3.iso

Since the contents under our source root C:\Super_W2K3 is 4 GB, we need to use the CDIMAGE.EXE to perform an "Optimization", mapping and saving identical files to a single physical address onto the CD. That is why we have step 4 and not to burn the CD directly from the modified source root.

FOX, thank you very much for showing others the detail messages of the compilation process with the CDIMAGE. I think it is really helpful to those who are not familiar with CDIMAGE!

They are absolutely normal! CDIMAGE found some files which are very similar and almost identical, it warns you that there is possibly an error in the file(s), but we know it is normal!

Now you can relax!

pittpull 11th Apr 03 12:59 AM

Thanks alot khauyeung

for clearing this out :) im relaxing now hehe

And to Fox that showed the progress on cdimage so fast to us..

Here is additional informatiom for those who already installed v.2:
1. Extract DPCDLL.DL_ and WINLOGON.EX_ with WinRAR.
2. Boot Windows 2003 in a Safe Mode.
3. Copy all 3 files DPCDLL.DLL, PIDGEN.DLL and WINLOGON.EXE into \Windows\System32 Directory to overwrite old files.

hteunissen 11th Apr 03 08:28 AM

Is it possible to open the ISO with UltraISO, delete the old files, add the new ones and save it?

The answer is NO because the 3 files appeared a multiple of places on the ISO!

Flammeus2000, your information is absolutely helpful to all of us. Thank you very much!

Sorry, no requests :(

zukdj 26th Jul 03 04:46 PM

:( I got the 6 in 1 the way I wanted it and burned the ISO after updating to V3 and now I cannot do the security updates via Windowsupate.com, anyone have a solution that works?

khauyeung, any idea how to fix this so Windows Update will work with the final ISO version loaded on my web server????

zukdj 28th Jul 03 01:51 AM

:D If you go tohttp://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/catalog/en/default.asp and download the critical updates for your hacked version of Server 2003 to a directory called updates on the root of your C:\ on your Windows Server 2003 and run them from there they run fine. If you try to run them in Windows Update they won't run, it says your running pirated software. <_<
