Can someone tell me do we have a membership crisis around here at the moment or is it coincidental that when I seem to use the board there appears to be only about 7 or 8 people on the board?

Maybe its a time difference thing...

but speaking for myself, I use the internet in work only. And seeing as everything we do in work is monitored :angry: I can't stick around for long

I just log onto the board a few minutes at a time just to get updates on whats happening, so if I miss out on anyones birthdays, Happy Birthday and SAVE ME A BEER!!!!!! :D

Yeah, I also think its a time difference thing. I only use the net on weekends. Ie. Friday evenings (if I'm not busy) till Sunday evenings. Coz Local telephone calls is quite expensive here.

Activity of a board works just like a Trade Cycle of a country. BetaONE is doing ok atm. I think it stands in an upswing heading towards a boom.

Think you are all just kidding yourselves, anyone who uses other boards knows this board has sunk to an all time low, the time difference does not come into it if the membership was loyal, I think the majority of visitors now are just lurkers, and leechers, you only have to look at the viewing figures of requests, which having used it myself a couple of times, have found it to be a complete waste of typing
The upswing will never happen, we are not allowed to advertise it on other boards, how are new members going to replace the hundreds that have gone, and the content is not going to keep them here even if they do manage to find it .It has been said that the release of Longhorn would get them flooding back, because I have questioned the downfall of this board before, but that never happened, and why should it when info is available on other boards.
I only stay here because it was one of the first I joined, and by being here, it has widened my knowledge, I owe it that much

No its a catch 22 You need fresh blood to bring in content, without content you are not going to get keep fresh blood, But life goes on, at least its surviving, which if I remember was given a short life by people who started another forum ;)..........so then has anyone got any KDLang music :)

Well we know this will NOT happen, because passing illegal software is against the board rules. In fact, that seems it could be the reason why the board don't have the traffic it once did. I still enjoy the board and the people 'AS IS' As long as there are donors to cover the cost of the boards ISP and the people who run it decide to keep it alive, I don't see the board going anywhere.

Yep, same here. We probably get around 200 members stopping by in a day, plus whatever anons and non members. The board is far from dead and the community that exists around the board is as strong as ever- despite (or perhaps because of) the turmoil that has gone on around here :)

i'm here all throughout the day, from 6am to 1 - 2am central standard time, sometimes there are 5 people here, sometimes there's 30, i don't think it's that bad

BetaONE Rocks, everything moves in cycles; I went to the beach today and all the water had receded, I thought the ocean was drying up but the water was back a short time later and I realized it had never left at all ;) :)
