What is the an easy but good web site maker, i have tried Front page
that is not easy to use typical MS.
Can any of you guys help here, when i mean easy like click and paste,
with easy to find functions and gives a proff finish,
maybe this too much to ask for???

You really can't get an html editor that's much easier to use than Frontpage. There's some decent website templates for it that you can just 'click and paste' your own content into. Namo Webeditor has some easy to use templates that might be useful to you too. If you want to use something that creates more of a 'professional finish' though, it usually requires a bit more expertise/experience/education (hmmm... that's E 3 times ;)). Dreamweaver MX is a great package. It does just about everything and what it doesn't, there's usually an extension for it. Adobe GoLive is another one that can give you a really professional finish too. I really wouldn't recommend either one for beginner (or even a novice) though. Then again, some people take to web creation very quickly so maybe they would suit you.

You sort of have to find the program that's a balance for you between 'easy' and a 'professional finish'. I'd suggest you get real comfortable with Frontpage first. It can really do a decent job and once you get used to it, it's straight forward and relatively easy to use. I work at a huge university and most of the people there use it for all there 'everyday' stuff. If you do lots of websites you'll probably begin to outgrow it though, and by then you'll know what's best for you to use. I still use frontpage for some things, but Dreamweaver and Golive are a lot more powerful. One tip I can give you is if you're seriously into learning web design, whatever editor you use, as you do stuff, take a look at the underlying html as you go. That's how I started off and learned html. Frontpage does have templates you can use. If you click format / themes, you'll get a list of templates installed, and I'm pretty sure you can get more from Microsoft somewhere. I *think* Dreamweaver has some built in flash buttons too you can produce.

It would be easier to advise if you cold illuminate on what specific things in Front Page that you are not comfortable with.

I remember moving from Word Perfect DOS to Windows 3.1 and thinking WTF. Front Page is dead simple. Just create one simple page and FTP it. Keep playing about with it adding things and taking them out. If you are wanting to create pyrotechnics on your site then you will need to move to the Macromedia products. Keep it simple some of the best websites are!

i used it some years ago and thought that there were a lot of features,but hard to find.
I know you have to use it a lot to get to know front page, not as me once every third year.

yes dreamweaver has built in flash buttons (i know v4 and mx does) and you can always get more from macromedia.

FrontPage (98, 2K, XP) has some cool button effects too. They call them 'Hover buttons' and from memory it's 'Insert>Web Component>Hover button'. They're little java applets (yea, I know...;)) but they're real easy for beginners/novices to customize and they can look okay if done right. The new FrontPage 2003 has a new feature called 'Interactive Buttons'. They're nothing more than a basic swap-image rollover javascript but it has a little 'wizard' that makes them drop dead easy to make now. There's heaps of them too :).

Use Dreamweaver MX. I use it for couple of years now. Just get the book and in a week time you can do all stuff you need.
Remember all HTML editors are not Microsoft Word, so after copy and paste it usually not where you wanted to be, so
you will need to make some ajustments without book it'll take you longer.

Great looking site and beautiful pics (very artistic :)). Have you considered using layers (divs) instead of an iframe to deliver the pics? I've seen some pic galleries that run/load extremely quickly by preloading the pics for the layers that way. Although they might run quicker, I don't think I've seen many that are as artistic or laid out as nicely as your website though. Beautiful work :)!

BTW, I agree with you about www.friendsofed.com too. It's a great learing resource. Have you read their book 'Foundation Flash MX Applications'?. The book's author Scott Mebberson and I have worked on a couple of projects together. He's a real wealth of knowledge with Flash, and a good one to learn from.

if your a biginner then the easiest application is not Microsoft Frontpage but is actually Net Object Fusion it is a true "What you see is what you get" you place a image on the screen and the program will generate all the code to place it there. it got hundreds of styles.

the next stage is some thing like Macromedia Dreamweaver MX and Microsoft Frontpage which i have never used.

To be honest if you want to do professional web development. You are going to have to learn to able create HTML, ASP ,PHP, Etc... In something free and unaidded as Microsoft Notepad or araneae. As companies do not offered have programes such as Microsoft Frontpage or Macromedia Dreamweaver.

The only other one which i know is HotDog Professional, which is free if on some cover CDs or is cheap to buy. it allows you to preview your code as you type it.

it really depends on what you want to spend and do.

I am starting a web page trying to use Microsoft Frontpage. I feel like a baby trying to walk. Does anyone have any helpful suggestions to give a beginner (other than hire someone to do it. LOL)
