This is to the person who thinks death is a April Fool's joke, I know who started and dont care to play games of pointing fingers, but anyone who does get to read this before one of the mods or admins decide they are going to delete it, or smother it away, at least the people who do read it will know my stand.

Life must be a big joke, to sit there and Play a joke and play on peoples feelings cause things are at a lull and you think that by making something that is horrible to even imagine, and only for it to be a joke. Where on earth is half your brain. How many people did you have to shock to gain some activity to the board? You have too much time on your hands. I got wind of this yesterday, and knew it had to be a sick stupid joke, that only a freaking moron could come up with. I would say you have rocks in your freaking head, but even a person with rocks has more common sense then this.

How would you feel someone making a statement about you and in turn even if its not true, have people believe it? How about if I said you were gay and I know you molest little boys when you have the chance...? Oh BTW April Fools.

This only solidifies my reason for not interacting with this board, cause the maturity level is the mentality of a 3 year old, that whines in a candy store til he gets what he wants, instead of what he deserves.

As I told the person who told me about the news that Adam was dead, If this is a Sick joke, then there will be alot of people pissed that an A$$hole could be so stupid and joke about death. How would you feel if after you posted this it happened? Pretty stupid and shitty I believe. Utter words cant describe the thoughts in my head. But one thought I can, I hope the next time someone cracks a joke about you, and see how you like it being spread around the net, and i hope it follows you wherever you go, and haunts you for good.

I may have had my differences with this board, and its few Admins/Mods but even still differences aside, if it was true, just like I told the person who told me yesterday, I would be deeply saddened by the news. But if it was a Joke for April Fools, then my mouth will run and blasting the a$$hole for such a stupid remark. I guess we know how its turning out.

Happy birthday Adam, but either way, I say select who you assoicate with more carefully, cause people are like a$$holes, everyone has one, but there is also the ones who are foul, and this person who pulled this, lost all respect whatever there was in my book.

The joke was only meant to be seen by Adam, not by the entire community. I will admit I am not clear why that link was left up all night long however.

Mike, you have in no way whatsoever contributed to this board in almost a year (maybe more) and all though I do respect what you write in response to this incident, I dont exactly agree that the only time you come around is when there is some sort of turbulance. If you really feel that way about betaone, then why drop by and write at all?

Its your mouth that led to the falling out between the crew, both past and present. Unfortunately, you still appear to speak without thinking about feelings, in this case Zone and Adam, who are both quite uncomfortable about this whole fiasco. As I remember last, you are human as well and have made several mistakes.

Again, I am in no way condoning what was done, but an apology was made for all to see, so your "second spanking with words" in my opinion has no merit, and no just cause. You could pm this member, or email him. Blasting him in public for all to see is not in the spirit of this community.

Yes we all do move on. Life is too short to hate someone for making a very stupid move and judgement decision. If a mistake justified hatred, who would be left to like?

Well Mike, shit happens. Yes, I know the people that care about me were worried about me. Twenty thousand PM's, an email from James, and a few hundred IM's on MSN prove that much. Was I pissed off that it happened? Damn straight I was. But things happen, I was on here at the time, and Martin only wanted me to see it, he knew it would make me laugh my ass off in the context that it was in. He's one of the best friends I have on here, and I'm not going to hold anything against him, because he's my friend and that's what matters. He apologized to me for it turning out like it did as soon as he got online this morning, end of story. I'd wager that I know Martin better than anybody else online does, and he'd never do something like this to make people worry or mad. I don't know why he left it up all night either, but considering it was around 1AM when he posted it, he honestly could have just drifted off. That's the time he normally goes to bed I believe anyways, but he changed it as soon as he got up this morning. He apologized to everybody here, and if someone can't accept it, that's their problem, not his, not mine, and not yours either. I second everything Norm said, and Martin is one of the best friends I have, online and off, and I'm not gonna hold this against him, he wanted to make me laugh, no harm done in that. That's my two cents.

AD, I had alot of respect for you, but this post diminishes much of it. You know some of us pretty well by past association and yet don't seem to know so much after all. Sounds like alot of bitterness to me. If you feel so strongly about the people running this board there is nothing stopping you from staying away from it. The crew here is alot closer that you know, We're all FRIENDS whether you choose to believe it or not, and sometimes we make mistakes. But you know what? Friends forgive and forget, which is more than I can say for you apparently. I hope you can find a way someday to try and get past this shit and get on with life.

I too was totally pissed that a death was lied about. Zone has owned up and publicly recinded his right to post cruel jokes for the time being. Give him a break.. He did a risk of image and got serious burnt, I understand that. I'm not PM'ing him telling him off, cause sometimes we screw up. We all screw up sometime in our life. Hopefully his occurance with B1 will be his only screw up.

I am not the best person to explain to you what I had intended and how it went wrong. I screwed up badly and am not expecting anything other than criticsm. I have appologised for the mistake I made, yet I guess the damage has already been done.

If you are willing to talk, please add me on MSN. I wont try to justify what I did as it cannot be justified. Instead perhaps we can try and get along. Refusing to put aside peoples mistakes, and quickly developing hatred and enemies will only make life more miserable for all sides involved.

Well... as I've telling Martin on MSN, if this was done to me, it would've been really funny.. i would've laughed my ass off so much. Im not saying Adam was wrong in the way he reacted, everyone is free to say/feel they way they do.

I helped the joke go on, when zone went to sleep, people started PMing on IRC and on MSN asking me about adam's death, i went to B1's site and saw the post, somehow i knew it was a joke, so i played along, i didnt know who started it, but i wanted to have my fun, so i said it was true (knowing that it was infact an april fool's joke)

AD: i agree with George Carlin, we can joke about anything, everything can be funny, as long as you are openminded enough... i myself like jokes alot, i like playing pranks on people. So, to finish this, i just want to say that it was funny, and you guys should see the lighter side of life, have more fun, BetaOne needs that, it's because of attitudes like this there was that other B1 breakup with Former Founder.

I like this community and was here early on. Angel Death was one of the "Dudes" that made things worthwhile. He helped me with things when I was just learning how to walk. I am a fan.

As far as what has been said above, let's just agree that "sh** happens!" and that one guy's humor is another guy's nightmare. I'm an old guy who's been through the mill and know how tempers and jealousies flare with perceived insults. I don't think insults were intended and we are all neato guys and girls.

I'd love to see Angel Death back here more often--especially since we all hope Longhorn will start the wonderful ride that Win XP gave us.

Lets enjoy. Life is short and there's just too much good stuff to pass up.

I discovered all this good stuff after I retired. I'm a student and I love it here.

What can one say that hasn't been said already. I agree with norm and it's clear that Adam is fine with what happened after the initial burst of anger. Martin has ask for forgiveness and as what I can see, did Adam forgive him for that. So did others.

The most important is that one can move on from this with a life lesson taken with them. Everyone should be able to learn something today..... Life is much more then just words, it includes Actions, Emotions and friendship.

I don't however agree that one joke about the STATE of someones LIFE.

Gus I agree that one must enjoy life with jokes, but I'm sure it would not be funny if you had to hear that your Wife "died" as a joke.

Nothing I said is personally aimed nor to show anybody in the wrong. I'm just trying to put some perspective on the issue.

One of the most important talents in life is to be able to joke about one's own mortality. Naissance, life,death--it's all one big thing. In my career I managed a group of traders and those are the craziest critters that ever walked the earth. Their uncerimonious joking, sometimes shocking, was simply a way of releiving stress. And so, we are here among a group of people that are in the IT industry and I'd wager to say the stress levels are often high. Things are changing, the challenges are daunting and so sometimes out humor becomes outrageous. I think I saw an age sampling of BetaOne some time ago. It's pretty wide. So there's a few generations here and they don't always see eye to eye. <heh heh>

Anyway. Good thread and good to see Angel Death back--if only briefly--at least he's checking in.

I agree rikytik, something me and Martin might find funny would disgust other people here, and I'm sure the opposite is true as well. As far as an age gap, I know we have one active poster here who is in their mid fifties or sixties I believe, and as far as I know, me, Martin, and RadiationBoy are the three youngest actives left here, and we're all 18 - 20. So you're right, we have a huge age gap here.

The matter was being resolved in a MATURE manner, the parties involved TALKED to each other, an APOLOGY was issued (Wich i know Martin sincerely meant) and Adam accepted the apology. It doesnt need some guy who never comes to the board, who upon hearing the news second hand, decides to shoot his mouth off and show us just how mature he is.

And before you start bitching about censorship take a look around the board and read some of the god damn posts on here. We don't censor people for saying what they think or feel- then again if you bothered to bless us with your presence once in a while you may have noticed the changes.

The top and bottom of it is this, it was a joke. It may have been in bad taste but it was a joke. Martin got burnt, he caused a hell of a lot of comotion, it made the situation arkward as hell for Adam but it was meant in the spirit of fun. Do i have to say it again for you? It Was A Joke.

This is one of the best crews this board has had, don't come in here with your lump hammer and wedge and try to split it up. It won't happen. Yes i remember the shit from before, yes i remember ADTW- i was a member there.

Adam and Martin, i'm glad you two cleared it up really quickly- i just object to people coming here once in a blue moon for no other reason than to heap condemnation and scorn on something a lot of people have worked really hard to setup and maintain.

I agree with you Jaco, if i heard by someone that my wife was dead, i would fucking go nuts.... but at the end of the day, my wife shows up, i would be the happiest buy in the world... and it turn out it was just a simple joke she played on me, seeing as how i am, i would laugh it out with her....

All I'm saying is, everyone knew it was April Fool's day, everyone knows it's a day we all play jokes on eachother, we all are friends here, like adam said, martin is one of our best friends in the fucking world, i've known him since july 2000, that makes it almost 3 years now, i've known adam since september/october that same year... we've all been friends and some times like brothers, we love and we fight like it :rolleyes:

It caught me so off guard that I spent an Hour going through Nashville obit's trying to see if it was true or not. The prank grew so fast it was out of control before anyone got a handle on it, and now people stress their displeasure with it and they get their heads bit off. I know everything is fixed between the 2 parties involved but it is evident that it involved more than 2 parties and some more than others.

It is dropped, it was in bad taste and I leave it at that, but I would not have responded unless I felt the need.

It was supposed to be a 2 party incident. And it went wrong...it gained an audience that it wasn't supposed to have.
