I don't think we need to find MORE members to join the BetaONE News Team. Rather I think we need to let all members select the news we read with the help of the BetaONE News Team. As seen in my comments before.

The reason we created the 'News Team' is, we had some members posting news all over the place, even in support forums! So we created the team. The goal of the team is to post news in an organized situation.

News team members are NOT required to post daily or even weekly. They *are* asked to pick a forum that is most interesting to them, read it often, not repeat old news, and to post in the correct forum when they find relevant topics.

We have also created a 'news crew' private forum so our teams can communicate with each other in a timely and profunctory manner.

Again, at this point in time we are in need of 'Beta' and 'General' news team members. Please reply to this thread if you are interested and an "Action B1 Live Reporter" will contact you. :D

No disrespect was meant. I simply used your quote to clear up a few things as regards the request for new news posters.

I'll now expand on some other points you've made. Again, I only do this because your points are valid and hope to shed some light on the way we have set up the news crew.

Actualy, news that's posted in the news forums is considered on a regular basis for inclusion to the front page news blurbs. I'm sorry if you thought news posted in 'chat' would be considered for a 'bump' to the news forums but this is not the case.

For some reason I don't understand, we don't have a true 'members news' forum. I think the main reason is, we're trying to organize the news in a way that is easiest for our members to access. In the mean time, all B1 members should feel free to post news they think will help the rest of us in the chat forum.

I see what you mean KingCobra. I had a doubt about what you said by "because I'm not part of the News Team and therefore can't post in the News Section", as I remembered it as "Member Submitted News". So I went back to the main page and refreshed my memory. And you were right, KingCobra.
It was:

All of the news submitted by our news team.

Sorry for my misunderstandings, you were right KingCobra. :)

To clear up one last (I hope :D ) point. News posted in chat is not automatically considered for a news forum. This does not mean it won't be. It's up to the news crew to make these choices.

Yes I have though about that, but I don't always have the time needed to do a good job. The past two weeks I've been off work & home with my wife and our new baby. I don't always have the time I have had lately, but when I do run across a story I think others would like to read I'd like to share it. How many news posts would be required?

There's no written in stone rule KC. You do what you can. And I know you're at B1 quite a bit so I'll bet whatever you do would be fine. :)

With that said, I would LOVE to be considered part of the News Team if the team will have me. Do I have to trade in my B1 Fund Donor badge?

nope kingcobra you won't, i installed a multi user groups hack for cases exactly like yours... you'll still be in the fund donors group, but you'll have news team privs too :)
