Well the forum is 3X slower now since the rebirth. :(
Frontpage loads fast though. Not sure what it is. Thanks, Will |
Is it possible to skip the new front page view and open in the forum view? Don't have any slow speeds though.
|
hmm, will work on the go straight to forums thing, and will, working on the slow load times for you
|
|
@ will: i added a show / hide thing to the show who was online today, try hiding that and see if things get faster for you

Oh and btw how about an option to always have "Toggle Menu Off".
Or a link like u did for the other thing above. That would be sweet. I always turn it off but then i have to turn if off again once i close the window thanks, Will PS: Or you could just simply make it remember your setting...a cookie?...thanks again... |

ok found one small mistake
the board was printing no cache http headers, which in plain english means nothing on the forums get cached by your browser, i disabled that so hopefully that will help too |
All is ok here for me on a 56k modem
|
All is okay here with me as well. Using a 56k as well.

Um a lot faster now. Since its saving the catch. :)
yea that and my own catche was way over the limit 2.5gb of temp. internet files lol thanks, will |
Adam, one potentially nasty side effect of enabling caching is that new posts may not show up depending on the client browser/proxy settings.
At home I have no problem, but I know for a fact that if I visit a page printing cache headers at school, I wont see any updates for three days or so (unless I force it to reload by using CTRL+refresh). It may not be a problem as the session ids change, causing it to reload anyway once in a while, just pointing it out so you know whats wrong if someone complains about not seeing new posts. |
aah, didn't think about that.... if people start having problems with new posts not showing up then i'll cut off caching, if not then we can leave it on so the board's not as slow...
|
Works fine here.
|
The forum is running just fine on my Dad's computer. Which is an 800 Duron Windows box.
Weird.. on my Mac it does not run as well. hmmmm.... |
It seems faster to me than the old board here. Of course I rarily go to the main page anymore. :P
