Still no go for me. All the info correct in first post?
|
no luck from here
|
All info is correct.
In log file from router I did not see that someone is trying to connect port 17071 which means you pass router firewall. I shut down ZoneAlarm on my PC so it is not the case also. I'm able to connect to this FTP Srvr using FTP Client on the same machine. Both BPFTP. Any idea what went wrong? |
probably a dumb question but did you configure your router firewall to allow incoming access on that port? maybe try a different port.
|
I did but maybe not correctly.

What ftp proggy do you use most of the time? I am curious, and thought I need to ask someone who has much experience, and knowlledge in ftping... I havent' been able to connect to VotTak, and I would like to expand who I can up to... I use Flash fxp, It works pretty good most of the time but gives me fits sometimes, but I know that there is better progs for ftping. Any help appreciated.... Thanks SeeYa |

I'm using BPFTPsrvr which is befind router.
Funny thing is that my friends using BPFTP Client and they were not able to get anywhere closer than in root directory. Although a lot of people were able to connect to my srvr and do upload and download. Passive mode on my srvr is off. If I set it to passive I got the same result. I'm going to turn on the srvr again and let's test it. I believe that our problem is that we are befind the router and ppl who are using IE are ok while ppl who are using FTP Clients are failing... I might be wrong on this one. |
Hi VotTak, have a read through my thread "Crowdirt's Server". you may find some "answers" there.
|
Does your router have DMZ??, you mite want to use it.
|
Thnx crowdirt ... I did and found the answer.
it is on DMZ now [ November 11, 2001: Last edited by VotTak ]</p> |
You can try now and let me know
|
I tried with Opera, FlashFXP and getright browser 4.5.
Flashfxp: connects fine but directly after login it gives an error: canīt establish connection Opera: no go at all Getright: connects, logs in but get no directory listing. Getright and flashfxp both tested in PASV mode and PORT mode. |
