What Geforece2 card are you running, MX, GTS, ULtra?

Beta Spanky 31st Aug 01 08:57 AM

That is an extremely outdated driver.

Another question. Is that a Win2000 driver, or a Win98 driver? 98 drivers will not work.

Go here
http://www.maxreboot.com/index.php
for the latest Detonator drivers.

Remember------ WINDOWS 2000 drivers only.

Yeah, most of the early drivers for WinXP will not be signed by Microsoft, so don't worry about that message.

I ask because when i used my GTS on XP there was two driver options Geforce2GTS and Geforce2GTS/Pro I always found the second of those to be much less crash prone.

I have 14.70 installed, and it works great. I got it from the site I listed in my last post.

I am also using the ASUS GeForce2 GTS.

I'm using the win xp drivers and it seems to work ok so far. Haven't had the time to test them so much yet.

chrisa107 1st Sep 01 11:42 AM

Ditch the XP drivers, they most likely will not offer the best performance.

Aragon 1st Sep 01 01:48 PM

What drivers do you recommend? The latest or?

Jannier 1st Sep 01 02:36 PM

Yes don't worry about the signing stuff,
i found 14.61 to work well on G-force DDR.
I must say one has to go by trail and error.
meaning testing:-- some drivers just work better than others for different cards.
14.61 might not work well on G2
and you hav to make sure you choose the correct G version card in the setup.
If you have eg G2 MX 200 then don't use G2 MX 400 in your selection under the install.

Hope this make sense, and help

Thank's for the advice.

chrisa107 1st Sep 01 07:02 PM

If you want the best performance, the latest official reference drivers are the best. The 14.xxs are not as fast in a Win98 environment, though the results could be different for Win2000/Xp.

It would help us help you, if you gave us a little more information about your setup.
