Hi,
Just wondering How many ppl are using broadband and how many ppl are using Dialup :) Well I am using Dialup 56k (but 7K in real words :() and willing ot move broadband in the future....some day :) Last edited by McoreD at Oct 28 2002, 06:04 PM |
2M/384k cable here... :P
|
Damn I hate 56k , at least it has unlimited hrs and downloads. I would probably burn up the crappy bandwidth limits in a day if I had one of the current broadband connections.
|
I can't tell you how many times I have tried to get fatter pipes, all to no avail....
I suppose "direct pc" satellite would work, but 99.00/month for the first year is a little out of my budget... /JD |
Over here in Japan things are moving ...
I got myself a 30M/10M cable not bad but they should at least offer something closer to what they promote for... actually I get an average of 4~6M |

Vdsl is a dsl standard. Today i'm using adsl. Vdsl is much faster than adsl. I think vdsl can have a max download of 52 Mbps and 19 Mbps upload.
|
I'm currently on a campus LAN that is serviced by 7 T1 lines. One T1 is for the students/dorms and 6 for the library and admin/teachers offices.
2002-11-03 17:40:46 EST: 716 / 363 Your download speed : 716917 bps, or 716 kbps. A 87.5 KB/sec transfer rate. Your upload speed : 363438 bps, or 363 kbps. well there I am.. i wish we had more bandwidth but then doesn't everyone want that? Regards, Cyberion |
DSL
don't remember the speed, but awhole lot faster than 56k :D |
512dl/256ul
BT Openworld ADSL Service.... So far running OK....After I upgraded to the latest Alcatel Beta 2.0 Drivers.... |
Working with low end DSL here. I can't complain because it comes with some nice "extras" ;)

Normal stupid slow and unstable cable here. Download is 150kb/s and up is 15kb/s. Have uncapped it but 2 hours later they caught me. :( :( (Stupid UPC/Chello!!!!)

Been using 10/10 MB Lan connection to my ISP for some years, technically ready for 100/100 MB.

@Keru : To bad... you should be able to max it out, like I sometimes do... :P |
800 down 128 up
whee! |
Wireless connection to At&t broadband on the other PC in my dad's office. Supposedly the speed is 11 MB per second, but I don't know if thats true all the time, 24/7.
TCM |
1500 down 256 up ADSL.... i'm happy with the downstream, upstream sucks though, and there's no isp anywhere around me that offers a faster upstream until you get into the full T1 lines, way too expensive for me lol
|
I got 768/128 cable...
but going back home to my uncapped/384 cable... w00t. uncapped = approx 6Mbps limit -CaP :P |
1500/256 ADSL, the only decent option I have.
B) |
And here i go i pay for an 350/350 line wireless
But i have had so much prob with the signal so now i have about 1024/1024 :) I waithing for a new isp here are gone upgrade and when that happen soon i hope i will have a 10/10mb line.. PittPull |
Heck, I can't remember what my ISP (comcast.net) says I should be getting.
The speed tests I have run say ~ 972kbps/65kbps. Hopefully, they upgrade the lines...like that's gonna happen. But then again, if I could afford the $95+ a month for the "Pro" package I'd be getting "up to 3.5Mbps/384Kbps". Oh well. |
well right now I'm on 56k b/c I'm at home %&^$*&%^$#*#%&$#&$#@&%$!!!!!!!!!!
but when I'm at collage I have nice fast internet, and there is no download limit...or at least there doesn't seem to be I downloaded about 10gigs in like 4 days and no one said anything lol. They do care about upload, the cut your connection almost instantly if you start uploading and sharing stuff lol. |
