How can I make an active desktop??

Could you be more specific? (If you mean activating Active Desktop, it's always enabled in XP)
Umm... I mean by setting it up so that it will automatically download news and post it on the desktop.. kind of like this/...

thx, but afaik it isnt active desktop, its deskmodding components
All you have to do is, make a HTML document, say, in Notepad... do all the stuff in it, and save it as blah.html and go to the Desktop tab, and select the HTML document... you might have to change the thing at the bottom to HTML Documents or whatever. I've only tried this with Flash in a HTML doc... not an acual webpage.
