Aw geez, it looks like a new minivan is in your future, eh?

congrats and say good bye to EVER sleeping a full night again!

KingCobra 26th Dec 06 01:30 AM

I'm praying for another boy, that would make 3 & 3. Her first OBGYN appointment is 8 days away.

We already have the new mini-van, got that back in July. In fact, I got a new car recently too.

Vinnie 28th Dec 06 10:07 PM

Congratulations KC, when's it due? I'm getting another grandkid around the last of May, that'll make 3 for me. If you think kids are great just wait til you get grandkids, it's the best. You and the family take care and be safe.

rikytik 29th Dec 06 01:32 AM

You are a busy guy KC. Great news. These are the best years of your lives--you and your sweetheart. Happy New Year.

KingCobra 29th Dec 06 08:27 PM

She's about 2 months along and her first OBGYN visit will be next Tuesday. Her doctor, who delivered all 5 of our other children, is going to be shocked.

I never said I was done having kids, that's just what she said... after number 4. :p

rikytik 30th Dec 06 03:57 AM

You are an old fashioned guy KC. I admire you and what you've done with your life.

KingCobra 30th Dec 06 11:15 AM

rikytik - :) Thank you! Many people don't understand why I enjoy having a big family. I'm asked all the time if we are Catholic, nope I hate to take on a denomination because I feel it don't matter as long as you believe in GOD and that his son was sent here to die on the cross for our sins so if we ask forgiveness we will receive salvation. Although, we are going to stop at 6 kids because I turn 37 in February 37 + 18 = 55 and I want us to be young enough to be a part of not only our kids life but all the grandchildren too and there should be lots of those. :kicking:

My parents had two kids, me and my two year older brother. He went in to the millitary after high school and will retire from it. He married someone already with children so he will not have any of his own. If I had decided not to have any children of my own, my parents would not have any blood grandkids. I know it's our children's choice, after all it is their life to live but it makes me sad when I see parents that want to be grandparents and never get the chance. I don't want that to happen to me so I think the odds are with me that it don't. Many brothers and sisters as kids, teens and adults get in fights and don't speak with each other. I noticed after having our 3rd child that if two of them get in a fight and stop speaking one always goes to the 3rd child rather than be alone. After this happens the child that is now alone feels left out returns to make up and makes things right and the family is one again. We try to let our kids work things out by themselfs but if they don't, we make it happen! Nobody is mad at or don't speak to each other for more than 20 minutes. If I have to sit them down and have them stare at each other until what they are fighting about really don't matter anymore, I will. Life is too short to spend it fighting and money does not make you happy for long before you need to spend more to get that feeling back again. Love is FREE and worth much or than what money can ever buy, but it takes hard work as you well know, kindness, patience... you know the list. :D

I look up to you rikytik  The stories and pictures you have shared, priceless! Hats off to you my friend! Keep us updated, I love to share your stories with my wife. My goal is to look back each year and be happy with the moves I've made with GOD's help.

KingCobra 30th Dec 06 10:31 PM

Here is the plan to spill the news to both sets of grandparents at the same time.

1. Give them what they think is a new years gift, only to be opened in 2007.

2. In the locked box is a food gift certificate for each parents favorite place.

3. A preemie diaper.

4. A baby boy announcement TIME: TBA DATE: Summer of 2007

5. Lock the box and wrap up as a gift.

6. Hide one of the keys in their house and call at 12:00 2007.

7. At midnight we each call our parents and tell them where to find the key.

If they try to open the gift before we call telling them where to find the key we know they will not get into it because the other key is locked inside the box. Here is a picture of the box as we put the plan together.

Yes, I'm the master mind behind this plan and I'm so sure it's a boy I had my wife use a boy announcement. :D

My wifes parents are watching all of our kids over night for New Years Eve while my wife and I leave town. In my wifes box we have a New Years gift certificate for both her parents and each of our kids along with the baby announcement. Just think both sets of parents are going to be up another 1-2 hours and not be able to sleep after finding out about the news.

YES, I'M CRAZY! :clapping:

rikytik 31st Dec 06 03:25 AM

you are a cool guy KC. Yes, kids who have more than a sibling or two may be better adjusted, but I think it says more about the parents. You and your sweetheart obviously have your act together. Just as long as you can afford all those shoes! :)

As for me. I visit Josiane each day and take her for a walk. Today I didn't go as usual before her lunch time. As I walked to her door about 1 p.m. she was leaving her room, warm jacket zipped up, wool hat on, hugging her two teddy bears. Talk about expectations. So we left immediately and I drove her all around town. She loves riding shotgun. I brought along 2 Lindt chocolates which she loves. I can't bring more cuz she really goes through that stuff like a dose of salts goes through a tall basket ball player. Even tho she can't any longer speak, she lets me know she likes my visits. She seems to have adjusted to life in the dementia unit. Not all that pleasant for visitors, which explains the usual absence of visitors.

Bravo KC for your humanity, love and joy of life.

Happy New Year to you and yours.

BearCat 10th Jan 07 11:48 PM

OMG, how do you do it......
Congrats m8, and keep on doing what you are good at :p

Vinnie 11th Jan 07 11:47 AM

Ha... one of these days you'll find out what causes this to happen and quit doing it. LOL

KingCobra 12th Jan 07 04:30 PM

Vinnie - We are done after 6. :D

rikytik 13th Jan 07 01:36 AM

Where have I heard that before? Just as long as you can keep your sweetheart bearfoot, pregnant and in the kitchen, and still afford shoes......

Don't you dare tell her I said that! :)

rikytik

KingCobra 13th Jan 07 02:14 PM

She said that after giving birth she wants her tubes tied. I'm fine with that, I might get fixed myself. My ammo is so good I'd probly give her a tubular pregnancy.

As for the shoes...

NO $AID$ here. Our kids DO NOT even qualify for reduced lunch.

rikytik 14th Jan 07 02:52 AM

I did had my valves shut down after 2 girls, KC. My Gramdmother was one of 14 sisters and I figured that I was never going to get it right! :) It was only after we adopted a male German Shepherd that we had another "guy" in the house. :)

The benefit for Josiane is that I got used to keeping the toilet seat down. Seemed so civilized, actually.

It's A Girl!

I prayed for a boy, but as they say FATHER knows best, in this case the HOLY FATHER! Most wanted a girl anyway so prayers do get answered, I just didn't have enough of them on my side this time. I do agree with my wife that a little girl being the youngest will fit in better with our family than a little boy would now considering there would be such a big difference in age between them.

My wifes due date is 8-17-2007, but she has always gives birth before her due dates. Take a look at the ultrasound we had done today, seems easy to tell it's a girl don't you think?

I don't ever recall saying I was done after #5, my wife did. I've talked previously about wanting the real Brady Bunch (3 girls & 3 boys from the same pair of parents) this is why I wanted another boy. I'm still happy even though it's a little girl, I'm sure she will fit in GREAT with her older sisters. I took no steps to avoid #6 and she didn't either. I remember the day that #6 happened and on that day she agreed so it's fair to say #6 is no accident.

I have said that I'm done after #6.
