I'm planning to buy a wireless mouse, but as we know optical wireless mouse is not recommended when playing FPS games, so I was thinking using 2 mouse at the same time, most likely a USB mouse or PS/2. So my question is, Is it possible to install 2 mouse at a time. when I want to play games I want to Use the PS/2 mouse or USB mouse, but working ordinary software I want to use wireless mouse...
Please don't advise me to just swap mouse everytime I want to used it. all I want to know if it is possible. Thanks. |
Should be no problem.
I prefer using a trackball and also have a mouse installed for my wife. Dave |
Thanks DaveH for the replay so its good to go to buy another mouse.

I was able to connect a serial plus a PS/2 mouse. I had to use the Add Hardware Wizard for Windows to detect the serial mouse.
But if one of the mice is USB, it should be very, very easy to have 2 mice working together. B) |
i have a ps/2 mouse and a usb 2.0 mouse working right now as i speak :)
cya later, will ps: mostly for two player games :) |
ok thanks for all the info.

No problem having more than one USB mouse connected but you could have conflicts between the drivers or the control panel software. That happened to me when I tried to install both Microsoft Intellimouse software and Kensington Mouseworks software. I had better luck with Logitech Mouseman + Microsoft, but basically it seems that only one control panel package can be operative at a time. You can, however, install the drivers only or even just use the Microsoft drivers. See my post in this forum:
That pesky Logitech Mouse button #4 I currently have three different brands of mouse installed on a Win98se system: Microsoft Optical - USB Logitech Dual Optical - USB Kensington Trackball - PS/2 The full Microsoft drivers and software package were installed. The Logitech mouse was installed with just the Logitech drivers. The Kensington trackball was just plugged into the PS/2 port and recognized as a "Microsoft PS/2 port mouse". It works just fine with the Microsoft drivers. I recommend you have a full system backup or at least some kind of rollback software running before you start experimenting with these multiple device configurations. |
I just pluged both of mine in and they worked fine. No software needed.

Hi,
Optical mouses pose no problem with games, my son uses a M$ optical and loves it with his gaming. Cheerz :) :D ;) |
