You need to boot to dos. The easiest is to use any boot disc and the program disc you make with the PM program under windows. You can copy the program diskette to the hd and then boot to dos with a cd and run it that way if you don't have a floppy drive.

I can't do that cause I have no operating system on hd

I need to partition and format so I can install aoperating system

1 Copy the contents of the Partition Magic DOS folder to a floppy.

2 Boot the system with a boot disk from DOS, Win95, Win98 etc

3 Swap to the PM disk and type pqmagic.exe enter

4 All will become clear

Why not use Fdisk to partition your drive?

Regardless you need Dos to run Partition magic (DOS version)

So.. then you need to decide to boot DOS off floppy disk or HD
and in your case boot off CD !

All my DATA CD I burn are burn with a bootable DOS image which is not hard to do when ever you make a a dat backup..
its only 1.4M or 2.88M

Partition Magic has the option to create 2 boot floppies,no seperate bootdisk or commands are needed to run them, all stuf to boot and create/merge/delete partitions is on those 2 floppies...in fact,it's much safer to use these, instead of running P.M. from within windows...

hanovski 27th Aug 02 04:58 PM

pm me if you want the 2 flops...
I'll make images and email them to you

Why not do this the easy way ?

Boot from a Win98 bootfloppy ( h**p://www.bootdisk.com )

Fdisk, create primary active partition.
Reboot
Format C:

NO need for Part.Magic.
