Do you have trouble with thoses last version OF Nero burning rom ?
Since 3 or 4 last version i can't burn after 3 or 4 use!!
My pc is completly freazing !!

Am having similar problems also. Seems my DVD burner can't burn to the media i have been using for the last 12 months and if i do manage to get it to burn to the media the burner either locks up or nero locks the system up. The burner is an external Piopneer 108 and works fine on another computer with the original 6.0.

Yeah .i know that i have update my firmware on my DVD burner.. i am thinking that the firmware is the cause !!!

Yeah, burner firmware seems to be a big deal these days. Good comment.

nero has always been a pain in the ass to get to work consistently; I hate to admit it, but I have taken to using Roxio EZ media creator most of the time now...

I've always hated Nero. Remember when they had a new 'build' every 8 days?

I've been using NTI CD Maker since I found it about 5 years ago. I don't do DVDs so I don't know if NTI gives you all the options of Nero but you can get a 30 day full function demo at ntius.com

Both Nero and Alcohol 120 are very reliable and versatile.

Anybody know if Nero and Roxio still have any compatiblity problems?? Or is it only the packet writing modules that are/were problematic and incompatible??????

Nero 6.6 and Roxio 7.0 both seem to work together without problems. :)

Yes, I have them both on my PC also...
I have noticed the problem with NERO always seems to be when you install a new version on top of an old one; if you completely remove the old version, reboot,and install the newer one, there is a better chance it will work properly..

If you like to try something new,with less strain to your system ,try Prassi Ones.....works perfect for the most basic burning tasks.

yeah . i already did that, and already try other version!
Each time is the same, after 3 or 4 or 5 uses, can't burn anything ( With nero ).
Need to UNinstall/reboot re-install ! And sometimes the reinstall dosen't work too !
So i need to clear my regedit too ! Anyway . i think im gonna try that older version of nero !! # Nero 5.5.10.35.

uninstall Nero, and then run Nero Clean tool and also run another general Reg cleaner like Registry Mechanic.
Then reboot and reinstall Nero 6.
that solved a rare Nero problem that I had.

geez i cant believe your saying that ... coz a lot of peps for years have had great success with Nero, that includes me. Roxio is the worst product available, it has the worst history as a burning utility. its a noobs app ... easy controls and no pro features. :bangin:

i do have to admit the past months have been witness to a succession of updates. the good thing is that they address faults really fast and with every update/fix new features are bundled with it. i've been constantly updating, but i never experienced any of the problems, my guess it may be a hardware incompatibily like the usage of cheap memory or underpowered psu.

alcohol 120% is a great app and its part of my arsenal, but i dont think it can replace nero for quick and dirty recordings. imho, its primary strength is in backing up games which can be mounted afterwards, saving our precious originals from getting scratched.

I have them both on my PC Nero Burning ROM 6.6.0.12 and Roxio 7.5 and I don't have any problem.
