Actually this post belongs in the beta software area. |
correct me if im wrong but ive just installed this version and its allowed 1year subscription
i installed the "beta" version, then when i tried to install this version it asked me to remove the old version and has now allowed 1 year free?!? subscription ends 8/8/2003 ?!? |
I installed the 2003 Beta that's been around awhile and it appeared to give me 1 year, but after a week or 2 I started getting a message that it had a limited life (forget the actual message), so immediately uninstalled and put 2002 back in.
Another thing. The Beta 2003 I tried worked fine on a Dell, but wouldn't work correctly on a Toshiba Satelite 5100. Wouldn't update on Norton's web site. --Not broken, why fix it? :) Last edited by rikytik at Aug 12 2002, 06:36 AM |

Because a lot of people want to have the latest release of their software.
|
Me too, I always opt for the "latest", but it seems to me that using beta versions for virus checking or firewalling is not a good idea unless on a specific test paritiion. but, point taken MinnesotaKid

Well the first beta ran fine for me. But now it expired and same with the second one. :(
Oh well 2002 pro is good enough for me. cya, will |
i had to uninstall the NAV2002 in order to work the NAV2003 correctly. my build is 9.00.35 and it still works fine. however, in the main menu it says: "Externel Test Build". :o
|
i installed nav2003, which later displayed as an external test build. as one betaone member said, i had to uninstall previous versions of nav in order to install nav2003 without errors. but today however, after updating a nav component i selected to restart later. after restarting it started giving the same error message over and over which asked to restart the computer.
