@hotrod - I can email it to you - it is 264 KB
There are 2 other update files as well update.exe and update.ver the update.msi is old - the other two are dated Aug 5 Can send those too, Need an address though |
I have just found that 'cryptographic services' is listed as a component service
For the description of the service it says: Quote:
To check go to Control Panel/Administrative Tools/ Component Services and under the status it should say 'started' It might have been disabled during your last successful SP1 update Just an idea :) |
Thanks all,
Services are running. If you would send the files will give that a try Thanks Forgot to check logs, this is what it says Catalog Database (736) The database page read from the file "C:\WINDOWS\System32\CatRoot2\{F750E6C3-38EE-11D1-85E5-00C04FC295EE}\catdb" at offset 2007040 (0x00000000001ea000) for 4096 (0x00001000) bytes failed verification due to a page checksum mismatch. The expected checksum was 2723619549 (0xa25722dd) and the actual checksum was 576135901 (0x225722dd). The read operation will fail with error -1018 (0xfffffc06). If this condition persists then please restore the database from a previous backup. GOt it, just deleted that folder and everything went well Last edited by HotRod at Aug 9 2002, 04:08 PM |

I've tried it with sp1 1090 and it works fine. "For Testing..." is gone Last edited by MinnesotaKid at Aug 10 2002, 08:14 PM |
used the ol bat file n "for testing purposes" was gone.
if u ran this file on n ol sp1 build, it will tell ya that there is no such file. no worry just reboot n its gone. [hide]@echo off echo Remove sp1 build no from desktop (xpsp1) by wet paper bag (and bophoe) echo. echo this will remove "Testing purposes only" and build no from your desktop pause echo. reg delete HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SystemCertificates\CA\Cert ificates\FEE449EE0E3965A5246F000E87FDE2A065FD89D4 /f reg delete HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SystemCertificates\ROOT\Ce rtificates\2BD63D28D7BCD0E251195AEB519243C13142EBC 3 /f echo. echo all done, reboot for changes to take effect pause[/hide] |
thanks keru
