surgery

Just back from the doc at the hospital.......he told me I have no other choice than getting a back surgery to solve the pain that my hernia gives me.
Next tuesday,12/7,they will try to fix it by cutting the hernia out....
I keep my fingers crossed.

KingCobra 29th Nov 04 02:26 PM

I'll say a prayer for you.

Hope everything goes well. :)

roadworker 15th Dec 04 01:08 PM

Hello my friends......
as you see,I'm back......unfortunually,things went not as smooth as I wanted or as they were predicted....
When the surgery started, the doctors had a few unexpected problems:
They had to cut through an area full of muscles (build up during years of hard work ) and they also found out that I had a lot of blood vessels and capillary vessels, wich are normally not there........these vessels are a self-protecting mechanism, created by my body,to feed that area with blood and oxygen if the big vains can't fully do their job anymore.....
I lost a lot of blood, and they had to open my back a lot further before they could stop the bleeding and before they were at the right place to operate....
I've been @ Intensive Care for 24u,had to lay down without moving for 3 days with a lot of drains in my body....

Now I have a left foot that feels if it doesn't belong to my body and a slice of 20 cm in my back, instead of the usual 3 cm.....
The docs don't know if the feeling in my left foot will come back to normally, and they also don't know if I ever will be capable to do my job again....In 3 months, they can tell me more .....
ATM,I have to take rest as much as possible.......good thing that laptops exist... ;)

KingCobra 15th Dec 04 04:07 PM

Sorry to hear about the problems that happened.

Ill pass a prayer your way. :)

Same here, I'll put you on the prayer list.

DoG 16th Dec 04 01:14 AM

That's upsetting, let's hope you get some feeling back in your leg/foot soon. Have they said why you have lost feeling? Use all the time you can to rest, you can never have enough of it :)

Dudelive 17th Dec 04 02:20 AM

Will say a prayer also for your speedy recovery. Just remember as hard as it may seem the doctors do know best and please listen to them. Take it as easy as they say and don't over do it with the laptop or you may have neck pain from trying to see at the wrong angles.

Thanks
Dudelive
