My Dad
 

My dad is in the hospital with kidney failure. He is diabetic and 80 years old so I might be taking a trip to las vegas to help soon:(

Do your best to *relax* and to go to your family, both physical and online. As Slick said, we are here!

One thing Ive learned is that just because I clean up my act and get clean and sober life doesnt stop happening. Just knowing I have some friends who care goes a very long way. I have a whole lot of support from friends Ive made in recovery also but most of all I know that one way or another this stuff will pass and my life will go on. Thanks.

I just called my father and told him I love him. I just hope I don't get stuck in this situation soon. If he won't stop drinking I might... :(

Well glad to hear he's at least ok. He's stable at least? That's great if so.

Hope he pulls out of it soon. But how are you doing? You ok? Hope you got some one to talk to. If you are filling over-relmed make sure you got some sort of support system, you don't want to have any mental health problems because of this shit.

Think positively. Enjoy the time you still have with him. Laughter is a big help if he's awake. ;) Tell him when all this shit is done your going to get him two hot strippers. Or whatever floats his boot. Pick the right moment so he don't have a heart attack. lol :D That or just curse at his ass and give him orders and tell him he better make it or else... haha lol

Theres some good news afoot. Saturday and sunday we almost lost him but today he was doing much better and it looks like he will recover. You know I have realized with older parents that these kinds of things can happen at anytime and I know that I need to make sure that I have said all that I need to to them before its too late and the opportunity passes. How long do they plan on keeping him, before he gets well enough to leave?

Not sure how long they will keep him but hes anxious to get home.
