Although power was out for a bit - couple of days and the phones are a bit spotty...
Lost alot of trees but the house is intact, although at 2am when the winds switched from the north to the south it sounded like a freight train was banging on the shutters covering the sliding glass door  And this was only a category 2 storm.... if a bigger one comes you can bet I will be among the first to flee  Just wanted to drop you all a note to let you know what was up - I will likely be busy at work and home for a bit - there is a terrific mess at both locations  :) /JD |

Great, just great. Now my house will get hit some what. :(
http://www.weather.com/maps/news/atl...dex_large.html Hopefully by then it wont be much though but do expect a lot of flooding. Seeing as it only takes 2 more inches to be at flood level within a week. Already had a flood warning this morning. :( God I hope it stays west. And thuderstorms as I speak. Hurricane Hugo was the last to hit us. The same 160mph. Causes lots of damage. :( http://www.usatoday.com/weather/huricane/whugo.htm I'm just glad this did not repeat this month. http://www.usatoday.com/weather/wh1935.htm The worst huricane in USA history. Well poopie. Rain rain go away. Raning pretty hard. :( ...FLOOD STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE COLUMBIA SC 748 PM EDT MON SEP 13 2004 ... A RIVER FLOOD WARNING CONTINUES IN EFFECT FOR THE WATEREE RIVER... AT CAMDEN ON THE WATEREE RIVER THE 7 PM MONDAY STAGE WAS 26.5 FEET. FLOOD STAGE IS 24.0 FEET. THE RIVER IS EXPECTED TO REMAIN ABOVE FLOOD STAGE UNTIL SATURDAY EVENING. AT STAGES NEAR 26.0 FEET... THE DU PONT PLANT IN LUGOFF MAY BECOME FLOODED.... Like 9 miles away. :( |

hurricanes are on everyone's mind whew, we have family waiting to flee from IVAN supposedly soon blah, blah, blah in Biloxii, Mississippi. They really don't have anywhere to go to. I think my gf (who's also from Florida... Orlando) is sweating it more than they are, her grandbaby (1yr old Jackson), and one on da way are her pride&joy, those graphic news stories / live videos are really stressing her atm.... must calm down. Hope it changes direction think was coming from Panama... not sure now. |
My cousin is still sweeping up in Port Charlotte, although my buddy in Palm Bay is OK and had no damage. We'll see what Ivan and the TD's bring. Glad you are ok JD
|
