For those who are not aware yet...
Go to - INTERNET OPTIONS - GENERAL - Temporary Internet Files - Settings You will now see a section which says the following: Check for newer versions of stored pages: - Every visit to the page - Every time you start Internet Explorer - Never Change it to NEVER. When you use Internet Explorer and press the F5 key or the Refresh button on the toolbar to refresh a Web page, the Web page is refreshed or updated even if you set the Check for newer versions of stored pages option to Never in the Internet Options dialog box. The information in this article applies to: Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6 for Windows 98 Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6 for Windows 98 Second Edition Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6 for Windows Millennium Edition Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6 for Windows NT 4.0 Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6 for Windows 2000 |
Also, recommend enabling "Empty Temporary Internet Files folder when browser is closed". :)

Much faster! Not to use it at all, switch to Firefox!
|
That does make it alot faster but the other problem it will cause is if you visit a page a second time it will not be updated when you open it. You will have to click the refresh button or the F5 key.
Thanks Dudelive |
yes, Firefox ix tons faster, but it has some weird quirks; printing pages from it is spotty, and it constantly needs Active X components installed. and more..
Hopefully when it goes final, these little quirks will be fixed.. It is 3 or4 times FASTER than Internet Explorer, so if you havent tried, you are missing something... |
Make IE even faster. :) Make temp internet files into RAM. I personally have set aside 128mb for it using RamDisk XP. Which back ups the folder when I restore computer. I only use it to keep cookies after restart as all temp internet files are deleted when ie broswer is closed.
Much much much faster. Just like firefox. :) |
