This was unexpected.
I thought NOD32 (1.802) will detect everything but: -- it failed to scan the ZIP file -- it failed to detect 11 files from the total of 593 viruses Tried the eTrust Armor which is bundled with Microsoft Security Update 2004 February CD -- it failed to detect 157 files from teh toal of 593 viruses. |
Kaspersky works fine for me.
|
Well good info I'm using Kaspersky nice to see it passed

hmmmm ....

NAV2005 found 589 of them, seems to do better than NAV2004!

revival.
btw, I dumped Norton because it seemed so invasive, especially after adding Ghost 9. Now using kaspersky and McAfee Personal Firewall Plus, but also experimenting with Sygate. Moved to Aconis True Image 8, bien sur. Thanks for bringing this back to view, Dog. Security is a big deal right now. I got a buddy who is making his living on setting up security with his clients--mostly people who forgot that updating AV definitions and spyware scanners is important. His latest Guinness record holder is a client who had 568 spyware items (detected by Adaware 1.05) and 100+ virii. (detected by Norton) |
Ok. I downloaded the virus file from the link. Looks like 593 in it.
Kav 5 detected and deleted 570. Booooo!!! 23 left over. Guess What? Norton 2003 on my Sony Laptop detected 591 |
Damn, that norton one is a good score!
|
Yeah "they" continue to cheat. :P
Got love that 2003 finds more than 2004 and 2005. lol I wonder what 2000/2001/2002 finds. ;) |
